Our club run this month was a scenic trip through the back roads south of Mt. St. Helens.  Most of the forest service roads were still closed for the winter, but we were still able to access some pretty nice areas.  Only a couple of MJ pics.

We ran into these guys from the Cascade Grotto club, a recreational spelunking group.  They were there volunteering their time to remove graffiti and clean up trash.  Even 3/4 of a mile into a lava tube you find remnants from previous morons.

Let's see if I can catch up on the updates.

Last September we took the red MJ to the first NW Off Road Expo in Snohomish.  They set up an obstacle course, drive through corn maze, divorce course, balance beams, etc.

The front also received some upgrades.

I won some Teraflex sway bar disconnects at a raffle last year.  Luckily, unlike most things from Teraflex, they actually seem to be well designed.

The old swar bar links.  Some RE non-disconnects I found in the junk yard years ago.

New Teraflex sway bar disconnects.

In July the club went back to the Fortune Creek area to work on the 4W305 trail.  I took our Samurai and Deb drove the red MJ.

Apparently the sidewalls on the Duratracs are not the greatest.  On the way down the 4W305 Deb found a weak spot.

I didn't get a picture, but 100 yards later around the next switchback Deb also ripped open the sidewall of the front driver side tire.  We were able to stuff enough plugs in it to wheel the rest of Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday we made our way to Gallagher Head Lake.

By the time we got to Cle Elum on the way home it became pretty obvious that the plugs weren't going to work.  No matter how many I stuffed in when aired up to street pressure they were just being forced out.  After a call to AAA and a six hour wait it was on its way back home.

You are more than welcome to join us on a run or a club meeting. We meet the second Thursday of every month. Usually at the Summit library off 512 and Canyon Road. We do a good job of keeping the calendar on our website up to date too - http://cascade4x4s.com.
