Codycobra84
Ok, I picked up my AX-15 finally but I have a few questions, the biggiest one being how to you make the external slave cylinder work on the internal style truck? I know it can be done, and I gotta feelin it's not to bad but I'm just tryin to figure it out. 2nd question, this tranny has an electric/digital speedo setup.....I have a good old cable speedo cable. Is there a way to make it work or am I in trouble with it? Thanks yall, -Cody
BLHTAZ
You will need to be sure that you have the internal parts for the clutch as well like the throw-out bearing, the actuator fork etc, etc... Obviously the slave & master set-up to match the tranny is needed as well. The manual housing for the speedo cable from your old set up should swap in I believe, but I am not positive as I have never tried it. I think they are the same as far as diameter & all...the only difference being the electric or manual.

Speedo Cable and Slave Cylinder that came with the tranny Everything that came with the tranny One of the other side.... So I'm guessin that I have to get a whole new clutch set up to use this tranny? If so is there away to use an internal setup on this transmission? It says it came out of a '94 if that helps/changes anything. -Cody

It looks to me like you have everything you need except the flex line from the master cylinder to the slave. What do you mean "a whole new clutch setup"? Dude, what you have there is an external slave setup. That's an improvment over the internal -- don't tell me you WANT to go back to the internal! No what I'm meaning is do I have to change everything else out with the clutch ie: master cylinder/lines/anything with the petal/etc. Trust me if it's just I gotta conect the lines from what I have now to the external style then yeah I'm all for keeping the external, I just figured it would end up being a huge headache to keep it. It's not that I'm afraid of doing the work it's more along the lines of I don't want to have my truck down for alonger time than I have too. -Cody
Pete M
I adapted my '99 plastic external slave's line to my '88 MJ's original hard line using a 1/4"-5/16" compression fitting from the hardware store. Only cost a couple bucks and has worked great.

BIGMASS
I just went from BA-10 to AX-15 and the speedo gear and cable adapter will swap in place of the electric sending unit. When I did mine I just took the clutch MC, line and slave as a unit from the parts truck to my truck. Had to drill the hole in the rod bigger to fit the pin on the pedal (7/16 i think) and it worked great
