bigd44889 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 anyone know what axles came under an 01 grand cheroke 4.0 auto 4x4 would thay fit the mj with a little weldining and fabing
BLHTAZ Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 The front will be a D30, but with CV axle shafts most likely. The rear could be a D35 or a D44, but if it is a D44 it will have the aluminum center (differential housing) section which you don't want. It's not a good donor vehicle no matter what is under it really...
Eagle Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Also, a WJ Grand Cherokee (99+) uses a different bolt pattern for the wheels. MJ rims are 5 on 4-1/2", WJs are 5 on 5"
bigd44889 Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 i did some cheking and scraped the whole idea :fool:
Geonovast Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Also, a WJ Grand Cherokee (99-04) uses a different bolt pattern for the wheels. MJ rims are 5 on 4-1/2", WJs are 5 on 5" :smart:
Eagle Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 ^^^ So what's the bolt circle on the '05 and newer Grands? I know they have gone to larger rims, but I wasn't aware they changed the bolt circle again.
Geonovast Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 No idea. I would assume it's the same, but I was just correcting the WJ years. 05+ is the WK, and I suppose it might be different since didn't they go with that stupid IFS thing?
BLHTAZ Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 As far as I know, they stayed with the 5 on 5 for the WK.
