mvusse
Even though the flywheel should not be resurfaced, $50 to have it done is quite steep. I had the flywheel on my Ford turned by NAPA (which is notoriously not cheap) for $9.
Pete M
Have you shopped around yet for their competitors' prices?
robfg67
No, I haven't shopped around. I was at my uncles's house when the clutch failed and he recommended this shop. I have a buddy who works in a shop in central PA . He's going to ask the boss what he would charge for this type job.
Pete M
It's always good to have a couple quotes. Also important with a job this big is the quality of the warranty and having a guarantee that they won't exceed the original written quote by more than a certain percentage.
HKB3
any updates?
robfg67
They ended-up not resurfacing the flywheel at my request, not replacing the clutch master cylinder b/c they said it was fine, and installed the SACHS clutch kit (includes the slave), and a new clutch for $900. I drove it home through that storm yesterday afternoon and to work today with no issues.
