mvusse
If all goes well, this will soon be mine: Two bad things: 1 - idiot light cluster 2 - 5 speed stick. Not that bad, but an AW4 would be one more part compatible with the Manche. And off road I prefer an automatic. What gears should this have? 4.0 HO with a 5 speed (AX15?). And yes, I'm keeping the Manche too. The Suburban is getting replaced.

mvusse
It's a 94. Haven't seen it in person yet, so the pictures may be lying, although I'm hoping they are not. 137,000 miles
69CamaroSS
purdy rig. anytime i see a 2 door that looks that nice i get jealous. i can't wait till i get a new rig. how much they asking?
mvusse
Even trade for my Suburban. Yes, they are getting the better end of the deal, but I don't have a use for the Suburban any more, the Cherokee will get better mileage, and I think the Comanche will like having a cousin parked next to it. It is as nice as it looks in the photos. No rust anywhere that I can find, unless it's hiding under a new coat of paint. It was brought to Ohio from NC a few years ago, where it was bought at a police auction; recovered stolen vehicle, so it has a salvage-rebuilt title. That's been long enough ago that any gremlins should have been found and fixed by now. The only thing bad I could find was that the exhaust sometimes rattles against the just installed new trailer hitch, and the headliner is sagging. It is not going to see anything other than pavement until I get sliders on it. The rockers are in like new shape, I'd like them to stay that way. It will eventually replace the Comanche as the play rig, but not any time soon.
cocco78
Thats fairly rare as far as XJ's go to find a 2 door, 4.0L, and a 5 speed, thats 4wd as well! Nice find, You probably won't see decent mileage out of it this winter but I know you should see low to mid 20's on the highway with that when it warms up this summer... 69CamaroSS
Thats fairly rare as far as XJ's go to find a 2 door, 4.0L, and a 5 speed, thats 4wd as well! Nice find, You probably won't see decent mileage out of it this winter but I know you should see low to mid 20's on the highway with that when it warms up this summer... thats exactly what my rig is just mine is older. ive had it in 4h all winter and its been fine as far as mileage goes. when i deliver i get people that ask me if I'm crazy for deliverying in a cherokee, and they always look at me like I'm nuts when i say it gets in the 20s in the city
mvusse
Well, I got it! Turns out after I wiped most of the snow off it's not as nice as I thought body-wise. There is rust (and bondo!) under the paint, and although the paint is at least a few years old, it is definitely not the original coat. Engine runs good, transmission shifts good, clutch is good, steering is nice and tight and it's got almost new tires. Not a drop of oil anywhere in the engine compartment or under engine, slight hint of a brown spot on the air filter. Rear wiper is missing. There's rot through above ps front wheel. That fender may get replaced, unless I take care of it by raising the flare. Once the weather warms up it'll be lifted 2" using parts I already have around here. mvusse
Got underneath it today, and no skid plates :( That will have to be rectified along with an instrument cluster with gauges. But: isn't that a 44?

mvusse
Too bad it's not a D44, but I knew it wasn't a D35. And it's better than a D35, but then, isn't everything? Anyhow, around 6pm I requested the build sheet, just after 6:30 I received it. Some stuff is wrong, some stuff doesn't make sense and some stuff is nonsense, like them calling it a *Grand* Cherokee.
