:fs1: hate to say it but they did they were in partnership with i believe Willys thats why if you look back in history in WWII the jeep had the ford flathead 4 boxter engine pumping a woping 65HP 3spd AWD

Ford and Willys coupled with the desire of the Army to have more than one supplier (and doubts about the production capacity of the tiny Bantam company), encouraged both Ford and Willys to produce pilot vehicles based on the specifications of the July procurement. Willys delivered their Quad pilot model jeep on 13 November 1940 and Ford followed on 23 November with their Ford Pygmy,

:typing: here's the ford link http://www.olive-drab.com/od_mvg_www_je ... _pygmy.php

Ford was in some sort of partnership and had their hands in the making of some of the older Willys stuff, but they never "owned" Jeep ;) . I think that is the point that was being made.

Just to keep this bumped;

So Obama fires the CEO and Chairman of GM (to send a message or not?) GM is days away from bankruptcy and restructure. Chrysler is more than likely watching what happens to GM. Ford probably trying to figure out how much money they should consider borrowing as it is now April now and nothing has changed other than millions have lost their jobs. Gas is back up to 2.00+ for no reason as it is still under 50.00 a barrel.

Sweet. He should fire more overpaid pencil pushers, cut the remaining executives pay, eliminate the big bonuses and welcome them to the real world.

The executives make way to much money and the real workers struggle to get by doing a real days worth of work.

They should auction the jets and all the other BS the execs have. Give them a hybred as their company car and cut there pay to about $100,00.00 before taxes.

That would save big money.

:cheers:
