DirtyComanche
I need a leaf spring with the centre pin hole about 3-4" farther back than the stock 'manche ones, and about the same length. Anybody got ideas?
feerocknok
So you are looking for a different leaf pack with offset center pin holes? My Toyota Pickup had offset holes, but never paid attention to the length of the pack or width, but they're laying around here somewhere.
DirtyComanche
I'll need only the main leaf and the one below it maybe, not even. How arched it is might matter. I was jsut wondering if anybody knew off hand of one. It's that or I'll go to the junkyard armed with a tape measure and a heck of a lot of time. I decided that I might as well get a little more wheelbase since I FUBARed my driveshaft anyways, and I'm swapping rears, and I don't mind cutting my flatbed apart again... pingpong
Not sure how long the FSJ front leaves are, but I am sure the info is on Pirate. You can also try full size chevy trucks, I think theirs were long, and had a centered pin hole
DirtyComanche
Ours are offset or centred? Hmm, I could go check. I really don't need a longer leaf, just the centre pin hole back a bit. I'm hoping I can get a little better departure angle. It kicked my @$$ a couple times.
pingpong
You always could spin yopur MJ leafs around. MJ leafs are longer in the rear then the front. As for departure angle kicking your a$$, why do you thinks I did what i did to my rig :brows:
DirtyComanche
Next time around.
DirtyComanche
Hmm, not going to be able to run the stock leafs backwards, at least not easily/nicely. Oh, and I have another motive. One of my main leafs is bent, and it's might hard to find 'manche leaves.
Pete M
Be the first to try Explorer leafs. The measurements seem pretty close to ours, but what happens in the way of lift/drop is totally up in the air. There are 3 different types of packs. Code F is the multi-leaf 4wd packs.
feerocknok
Code F is the multi-leaf 4wd packs. Did they run monoleaves on those?
CWLONGSHOT
Code F is the multi-leaf 4wd packs. Did they run monoleaves on those? I know it was avalible as an option or part of a package on the RANGERS..unsure about the EXPLODERS. CW
Pete M
Some Explorers have monoleafs.
DirtyComanche
Exploders are SUA. Hmm. Well, I can tell you based on my previous looking at random things in the junkyard, that they are probably going to drop the truck...
Pete M
That's what I was thinking too, but there's only one way to find out. It could be close. It'd certainly be a convenient way to get new main leafs. :D
Jeep Tricks
Just order a new set from Deaver. You will save yourself a lot of time. If they don't ride like you want them you can send them back and they will make the necessary adjustments to your liking.
feerocknok
What's stopping the leaves from being usable in reverse if you chose Comanche replacements?
DirtyComanche
Design, go look at the eyes. Maybe you could make it work, but I think it'd be weak or wrap like hell or something. And no stock replacement packs for me. Shipping on them would be scary...
pingpong
If you go and buy new.. go with BDS, thats what I will probrably use up front
