  1. Are you sure the TPS you have will fit my truck?!?
  2. Yes just like that but cut a little bit more off. About 3/4" lip remaining from what you have on your front flares. I don't know exactly how he manged to pull the bed sides out so far but I will soon find out.
  3. Deaver makes off road suspensions (springs). The web site doesn't list leafs for the Comanche. The shop I go to in Santa Ana, CA will make them for you. Just give them the specs and how high you want to go. If you don't like how they ride then they will adjust them for you. When you go to the website check out their "baja busings." A bit pricey but good for any off road application. Last time I went there I needed "U" bolts for that Skyjacker Cherokee and they made them on the spot for me. http://www.deaverspring.com/index.htm
  4. I didn't know the TPS could be adjusted. I got home and checked the output voltage on it. Adjusted it to 0.8 V and my truck fired right up. It ran at a normal idle. I shut it down, and started it a few times then the voltage spiked to about 4.5 volts. My truck wouldn't start anymore. I tapped the TPS a few times then the voltage came back down to .75 V. So i readjusted it to 0.8 V and it fired right up again. This time the idle came back up to about 2500 rpm at .77 V. As the output voltage kept coming down to about .72 the idle rose even higher to 2900 rpm. So now I know my TPS is bad. Thank you all for your help I appreciate it!!!
  5. I'm not sure what tranny he used. I'll ask him and let you know. If I ask him to join the club then he will be taking the "Jeep Tricks" name cuz thats the name of his shop. I'm going to have to come up with something else. He does something different to his Comanches and all of our friends that own Comanches (group of 7). I haven't seen it done on anyones Manche in the forum. Instead of cutting the quarter panel to make the tire stuff under, he cuts the outer lip around the fender well and then pulls the outer skin of the bed side out. then he makes some brakets to hold it in place. Gives the Comanche a different look. He runs 33's on his trucks and they stuff without any problems. Whether its dog legging or a straight stuff. And to make the front match the back, he uses fiberglass fenders. I will be doing this to mine as soon as I get enough money for tires and the lift. Besides that 4.7 MJ he has another 2WD MJ he turned into a race truck. Stroked his 4.0 to a 4.6 and burns 110 leaded. 16" King shocks all around, and runs the BFG Baja T/A. Ford 9" built by Currie in the rear and a widened straight axle in the front also built by Currie. Usually races in the MDR and BITD. Most likey we will be at the baja race at the end of the summer. Oh by the way the name of his Comanche is "Pheonix." Reason being is someone decided to turn it into a lowered dualie with with some huge fenders on the quarter panels. He got rid of that and brought it back to what a Jeep should be! The body and paint isn't that great but whats under the hood is awesome!
  6. What I wrote is nothing I read anywhere else. I help my buddy out in his shop and one his customers is sponsored by Skyjacker for the Jeep Speed class in desert racing. He has personally driven for him and he says he doesn't like that supension due to it binding. The drop brackets for the control arms also crack. He has 2 championships under his belt racing his Comanche so I'm more than likely going to belive what he says!
  7. Skyjacker is an ok lift but does not work very well for offroad. It tends to bind up a lot! I am personally going to go with the Full Traction long arm kit thats sold for the XJ and Deaver leafs in the back. And when I can afford it some King Shocks.
  8. I have fuel pressure. The pump runs every time I turn the key. I changed the fuel filter when I first got the truck back in January. When I press the schrader vlave gas flows out. I have spark and I have fuel pressure. I just don't know if the injectors are fireing. Does anyone know of a way to check if the injectors are fireing? And also what other inputs to the computer can cause this problem. If no others then I think its the comp.....
  9. My buddy did this same conversion to his '89 MJ. He had to get a custom built radiator since the holes for the hoses are in different spots on the 4.7. Wiring took him a while but he finally got it done. He also built his own headers since space is limited with that engine. The motor mounts and tranny mount he also made himself. You won't be able to use that intake box there is no room for it under the hood. You're going to make one or get an aftermarket one to go in the stock location for that truck. I don't have pictures of it but as soon as I do I will post them.
  10. No good! I replaced both the IAC Valve and the CPS, and I also cleaned the TB and still nothing. Doesn't even act like it wants to start. Any more ideas?
  11. Just order a new set from Deaver. You will save yourself a lot of time. If they don't ride like you want them you can send them back and they will make the necessary adjustments to your liking.
  12. I have an '87 Jeep Comanche 4.0L 4WD. Last weekend I went to start my truck and it wouldn't start. After a while of cranking it started but when it did it had a really high idle. It was idleing at 2900 rpm. I let it sit for a few days and now when I go to start it, it won't start at all. So I pushed it in reverse and had my cousin start it in gear. Thats the only way it started and again the idle rose to 2900 rpm. After about 10 minutes of idleing high it came back down to a normal 600 to 700 rpm. I shut it down, let it sit for a few seconds, turned the key and it started right up again with a normal idle. After it cools down it does the same thing again and won't start. I have spark and the fuel pump is running but the injectors aren't fireing. Does anyone know what might be the problem or guide me in the right direction. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
