Just finished r/r'ing my front coils on the MJ.

Jebus H was it ever a pain. I opted to do it with a trolley Jack, bottle jack, prybar and my handy hooked-crowbar. The swaybar came off and the calipers got shuffled off and 2 days later its all back together.

Good learning experience. Handtools. The way real men hurt themselves.

not that much fun... you can rent a spring compressor thats much easier than doing it without. or pull the whole axle out is how we usually do it :wavey:

I have never done a coil spring truck without the assistance of a lift and air tools. I can imagine that it must have been a real PITA to do like that

work smarter, not harder (you can drink more beer that way :D )

a small bottle jack is your friend......use it inbetween the axletube and the framerail to push the axle down and hold it there while you slip the springs out and back in, like such:

I believe that pic is of my 90.

My arse is sore today from sitting on cold ashphalt for 2 nights in a row, but the truck sits nicer now.

You'd be amazed at the comfort level difference afforded by a couple layers of good cardboard. :D

It becomes an art to get it done fast, I swapped mine in an hour! My parents didn't even know I was outside until I came in all greasy and crap.

But yeah, unbolted shocks, swaybar, and a bottle jack did me right!
