james750 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I was looking into getting the JCR prerunner bumper and wasn't sure if I should get side protection or not. I've never had a situation yet where I've needed protection in the 3 inches from the bumper to the wheel well but who knows. Do u guys think it is worth the hassle with having to trim fenders and extra cost to get the side protection? Thanks, James
Darren Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 JCR PreRunner bumper on my Rig. Yes its worth it to get side protection. You'll want to trim that part of your fenders anyway weither or not you get it.
BLHTAZ Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Yes...get it and trim it. I put the bumper on mine (not JCR) without trimming and it looked silly so I went back and cut it a couple weeks later.
reson46 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Yes, absolutely worth it. I constantly use it to slide by rocks and trees. Willy
james750 Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 Overall, RU guys happy with this bumper and would u recommend it?

reson46 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Never personally purchased anything from them, but everything I have heard has been good. All their products appear to be well thought out and high quality. Willy

Darren Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I love it. No fitment issues and good quality. make sure you get the unibody brackets with it. and be aware (unless you opt for some sort of coating) their stuff ships raw. so be ready to prime it as soon as it land on your door step. you won't regret going with JCR.

Oizarod115 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 my brother has a winch bumper with side protection and no hoop from them... its NICE. beefy frame brackets that extend back pretty far and brace the mounting bolts for the steering gear box. he did have a fitment issue with it, the left side sticks out further from the right side like someone mis-measured but its not real bad and they offered him the 1-ton steering for half price or shipping the bumper back to have it fixed and he took the steering kit. overall good customer service and would suggest them to anyone. the steering has proved great and has supported the weight of the jeep on more than one occasion ;)
