Is the 2-door driver-side power-window control switch for a 1992 XJ the same part number as a 2-door driver-side power-window control switch for a 1996 XJ? They sure look the same...

Thanks,

Different pt#'s,different prices.

According to Mopar,different switches.

Will they interchange?Probably.

Excuse me for jumping in,

evidently Brent's busy.

Wish I was.

Functionally they are the same. The bezels were different; the older style was black or woodgrain w. chrome edges; the newer ones were all black. They had black switches too.

FYI Catatonic, mjdoa is also a parts specialist for a jeep dealer and another valuable resource here who, as you can see, is glad to offer the same services as Brent. And, if I am correct, they are cool with each other i.e. they don't really try to compete. Just a little plug there for ya mjdoa! :D

Thanks Guys! I didn't intend to disinvite everyone besides Brent. He was just the only parts person I knew on here. Next time, I will address the Forum.

Thanks again...between the lot of the Forum, there is a wealth of MJ knowledge out here!

I don't think anyone did or would take it that way, at least I didn't. No, I was just giving you a heads up that mjdoa is a parts rep too. As I said, I have never picked up on any animosity between the two as far as one or the other getting a sale, IMO they've both always taken the "I'm here to help first, be glad to sell you what you need second if YOU want to." Hey, if you need to know something fast, it's always nice to have two sources.

Pat McCormick...I believe that he had a massive stroke back in 2005. He was a funny guy!

Well, that quote, as I'm sure you know, is from Sheriff Buford T. Justice a.k.a Mr. Jackie Gleason.

Yeah, Pat was good ole corny slapstick, but Paul Williams killed me as Little Enos. He just nailed the part.

It appears that the question has been handled... :D  Sorry I couldn't get to it.

I am glad there is such a wealth of knowledge and helpful people here. There is no competition between Tracy (mjdoa) & I so please feel free to inquire with him as well as me. I am always more than happy to help, but some days (like today) I can't get on here a lot while at work.

Honestly,I'm not a tech at all, just a parts guy. :papers:

Wahoo, don't give me a fat head now.I just like

to be on the interwebs, makes me feel impotent.

Questions like catatonic's can sometimes be

answered more accurately by guys like hornbrod.

And Eagle.And Pete M.And BLHTAZ.And CWLONGSHOT.

And minibeast. And on and on.Them guys have hands on experience,

and lots of it.I'm a jeep noob.

I'll jump in any time with what info I can gleen

from parts catalogs,techs,Mopar,whatever.

Anyone needs a part,Brent is the man.

And no,no problem talking to either of us,

we don't like each other anyway. nutkick.gif j/k

That is all.
