Lewt2007
why does everyone say that rustys parts are junk
Pete M
They seem to have as history of poor quality control, poor design, and poor customer service. Now don't get me wrong, not every person's experience was bad, but there are plenty out there that are willing to share their not-so-great story. You'd be hard pressed to find the same disappointment in a higher-end company like Rubicon Express. A poor experience sticks with you and makes you want to share the story. A good experience is expected and when it happens, frequently no further thought is given to it.
BLHTAZ
I have run across many people that are happy with thier Rustys equipment, but I have seen way too many bad things from them and would never recommend them. It's one of those "get what you pay for" things. Buy a $500 kit from Rustys and run a 60% chance that you will have trouble or buy a $1000 kit with the same parts from RE and run a 10% chance of trouble. Those percentages are "my opinion" based on the nearly 30 years that I have been in & around the 4X4 world and what I have seen & experienced...not from any scientifically calculated studies. ;)
CWLONGSHOT
Here is a little quote for you, its very apropos. "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten". Take my recent leaf spring problem. I paid $279 + shipping for that set of Rusty's springs because I didn't listen to members on here like DirtyComanche. I did check out what he told me, he recomended I get Alcans locally. I didn't want to spent $600 for Alcan springs I could get for half that. Well guess what... I just spent $450 MORE for what I should have bought the first time. A little addition and surprise, surprise, I now have spent $729 + for what I could have first gotten locally for $600. The $279 initial cost ain't such a good deal now was it.....     CW

pingpong
but they seem to use them a lot for parts on xtream and trucks. the guys on trucks are going to do a grand Cherokee with parts from rustys off road Well the thing about them shows are they are nothing but a giant commercial. They give the show the parts to build a vehicle. Just watch the shows and watch how they plug products that are great, and some that are shall we say crap at best. My experience with Rusty's is poor servie and long shipping. If you see anything you like on their site.. look at the other major companies and call around I am positive someone has the same product.
