armybmbsqd Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Does anyone have any experience with Fabtech lift kits? I have a lead on a new TJ 2.5" kit for a real good price. The kit is an adjustable system that uses the stock springs. The guys wants $400 for the whole kit with shocks. It sells for $620 from 4WD Hardware. It's a good deal just don't know if it's a good lift.
Motion Offroad Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 For $400 if it's new I'd buy it. Fabtech has quality stuff. Their shorter kits lack for needed parts, but the 2.5" TJ kit is a well put together kit. Just make sure if it is used that the shocks are not shot; as Fabtech's cheap shocks don't seem to last very long.
JeepcoMJ Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 and also realize that a TJ lift is different than an xj lift...the springs will net you 1" of lift or so.

LoTGoD Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I had an older (97-02) Fabtech 6" long arm kit that I just sold. The parts were solid, but the control arms seemed too weak. It was a used kit, but the previous owner beat the heck out of it, and bent 2 of the lower arms from wheeling. That being said, the newer kits from Fabtech seem much better in construction than the older ones.
