  1. I had the same problem with my MJ recently, my resevoir is leaking to. We found out that a couple of years ago there was a recall on those bottles because the cap ends up leaking. Mine still leaks for now till I go get the new bottle on the 13th but, we did fix my overheating problem. We replaced all the rad hoses and changed the thermostat and it hasn't overheated since. It's actually running cooler then it has since I've been driving it. We just have to keep checking my coolant level till I change the resevoir.
  2. Here in Canada all we do is go to the post office and ask for American postage. The post office usually has American stamps for what ever we need to send.
  3. here's a couple of pics of my comanches fisrt time out. That white stuff that I'm on and on the tires isn't snow we were at a sulphate plant thats been abandoned. And here's a pic of a friends rig.
  4. Mine being the Eliminator it does have bucket seats but I'd rather keep it a pedal brake if I can.
  5. From what we've been told the cherokees that I could get parts from only came with a hand E-Brake.The Cherokee was my first thought till then.
  6. Does anyone know if the E-brake pedal aaembaly from something like an s-10 or a ranger would fit in our Comanches? I need one for my truck but comanches are few and far between here.
  7. I Know that pic. It's from the Canadian Off Road Expo that was in Red Deer Alberta this year.We were there and got to see that run. It was a pretty good roll over.
  8. What size of stroker engine are you putting in it? We just had a friend put a 383 stroker in his truck. I guess it's it's pretty unreal. I haven't had a chance to go for a ride with his new mods yet, but looking forward to it and hearing the power in his motor now.
  9. Unfortunately thats the problem when you start improving a 4x4.You do all the work then something better comes out that you gotta have. Or you break things playing that you just have to fix and make better so it doesn't break again(hopefully)

i was just laughin, not criticizin ma'am, my stepdad went through 7 beers by himself in the time we did one thermostat, its a jeep thing haha. We've gone through our own share of beers working on my truck, not to mention the TJ, CJ, our friends unlimited, and our friends Toyota. And of course the weekend 4x4 trips. But then when it comes to 4x4's doesn't it require beer just to stay sane??? ;)

    Snow Fun

Here's a couple pics of us playing in snow.Could see a better way to spend a long weekend. Image Not Found and one pic of my 4x4 buddy. Image Not Found
  12. I'm definately gonna hang in there. I love this truck, wouldn't give it up for nothin'. The frustrating part is I've owned it for a month now and the only driving I've gotten to do was steering it when we towed it to the mechanics. If you can call that driving it. I just wanna get it running and finally have some fun with it.
  13. Finally know what it's gonna take to fix my MJ.Found out the idiot made a mess of some important things.Took it to the mechanic and he told me that he's gonna have to pull the whole tranny. He found that there where only 2 bolts holding the tranny in place, plus there where bolts broken off in there, and whoever did it put standard bolts in a metric thread. So now he has to change out all the bolts and re-thread all the holes. Also the fly wheel needs to be replaced cause the teeth are all screwed. After the looks of the bolts on the tranny he's gonna double check the clutch. Even though he's optomistic about the clutch he's thinking there may be a need to do some work to that to.but hopefully I'm gonna finally get a chance to drive it by the start of February and then I'll have some pics of it in sticky situations.

Sorry Oizarod wasn't the starter for sure if you want to know the whole story on the probs that are pissing me off with my truck but will hopefully be able to drive it the start of Feb. check out tech I'm gonna up date my post there.
  16. Found the problem, the tranny was separating from the engine, only two bolts holding it together. the clutch was done the end of november, we figured that the bolts might of rattled out. or the idiots didn't put them in.
  17. My MJ just has a spring reversal on the rear.It works good.

The front bumper was homemade. now just need lower gears and a locker for the rear. 8)
  19. Hey carnuck could you give me an idea of where to find AMC parts? We have a rebiult 304 but the guy went and put all the old crap back on it.I keep telling my husband we should put the motor in the TJ to get rid of that under powered 4cyl but he says it's to hard to get parts for the AMC now since they quit making it.
  20. We've wondered about the clutch to but the clutch is brand new in november.
  21. The tranny in it is the ax15 which is a way better tranny then the ax5 but the tranny in it is good. As for the noise on start up it won't even start with a key.My friend tried to start it on sunday night but was a hopeless cause. It'll turn over and grind like hell but won't start.

Will look even better when I get the winch in it this spring.Got a friend whose giving me a 9000lb winch. As soon as he gets his new one.
  23. Sorry the one thing I forgot to mention was the motor is out of a 95 cherokee. No the teeth weren't looked at when my friend put the new starter in but that is going to be the first thing we take out so we can look at the ring gear. It's the first and easiest thought. The starter is the right starter they are identical. And it should be a good starter it's brand new. It's almost definately coming from the bell housing area.
  24. I've also been told that something may have backed off or come loose, but the mechanic that told me that didn't show up to listen to it like he said he would so now I have to wait till my husband gets home from work, hopefully this weekend till we can look at it,since our other friend whose been helping me went back to work up north today.Unfortunately living in a small town makes good help hard to find.So I'm looking for some input here to help narrow it down.
  25. The tranny is an ax15. The noise is a definate grinding.Very loud and nasty sounding. Can't even get it start with a key.
