  1. Let me know if you want pics of my OHC and how I supported it. I will be making my headliner in a few weeks and it will be covered for good.
  2. It is time to mix it up. I'm tired of the same old seats and ugly center console options. I think I like the look of the El Camino seat in the truck and it fits very well. The split backs, head rests and folding console are nice additions too. I'm digging the blue also... Hint, hint!
  3. She is back to being a 2wd. It had a 242 in it and I never put it in AWD. I want simple and don't need 4WD. I have the LJ and Ram for that.
  4. I got the stripes all drawn up in my editing tools. I'll get some tester stripes printed up here soon to fit check them.
  5. Thanks buddy Appreciate it Ben I don't think I want to paint her any color other than black. I am seriously debating doing the 97+ interior dark blue with the blue stripes.
  6. I want stripes on my street truck build so I decided to spend a few hours messing around with some tape and the Cricut. I think I have settled on my final layout. It pays homage to her roots as an Eliminator. Me being a diehard Mopar mane the AAR strobe is a classic look.
  7. Messing around with the Cricut and some painters tape to get my retro side stripes figured out.
  8. Got my rear flares, rear bumper and front bumper caps on. I also got the intake, injector cover and valve cover detailed. I made oil fill cap from some parts I had laying around.
  9. Today I started working on her front end look. I do not like the 97+ bumper caps. I also don't like the 96- front flares. Then cames the need for a better looking air dam. I wanted a 87-90 Dakota Sport or Shelby front bumper. They are both rear as hell and impossible to find. I haven't given up on finding one but I have temporarily gone in a different direction. Today I added a S10 air dam to the bottom of my 97+ bumper. I may use an 96- bumper once I verify I like the look. I used rear flares in the front pulled down as far as possible. I then heated and trimmed the air dam and flares to blend them together a little better. Once my 96- bumper ends get in I will add them to see if this is my final look. I do like how it is coming together.
  10. I'm in love with her all over again!
  11. New front beam installed and she has a face again Now to swap the transmission and engine. She has a lot of blow by and smokes.
  12. It is too hot for this in south Georgia this time of the year! I need to pull the drivetrain, pressure wash the bottom of the truck and paint it. There is so much mud under there it's ridiculous.
  13. Going down and back to 2wd. It was time for a change. I caused a lot of damage by using her as a Jeep/truck that had to be fixed. I am using non MT 2wd packs, XJ shackles and a 3" XJ lift block kit. All in that was close to 8" of drop from the 4" lift it had.
  14. The rear has been completed. Moving on to the front very soon. I warned you her altitude and attitude was about to change!
  15. The XJ continues to donate parts. I pulled the shackles, cleaned and painted them. I then painted the undercoated frame with chassis black. I couldn't make the bolts black so I painted them a nice hammered gray. I'm waiting on a few more parts to come in to button up the rear suspension and axle.
  16. "I do declare, Mr. Beauregard. You are my hero." What in the world am I doing to this poor truck? There are going to people that love it and those that hate it!
  17. Glad to see you back Rich. Onyx is under the knife again as well. Can't wait to see your truck transformed again.
  18. The parts rig is starting to give back to Onyx. Door, fenders and hood have been put on my girl. I added some Labaron hood vents while I was in the process.
  19. Parts have been aquired to change the altitude and attitude of Onyx. Time to take her in a totally different direction. Stay tuned.
  20. Just a couple angle brackets. There's a few decent write-ups about it.
  21. Onyx got a spa day to get all the mud off the rear frame. Since the hood, fenders, doors and rear axle all have issues the best thing was to buy a donor Jeep for parts. I feel like I've been down this road before... The XJ will provide plenty of needed parts to get her back together. I also jumped on the Gladiator bumper band wagon and installed a $50 Sport bumper on her. I still need to trim the ends for the box but that will have to wait until I get the leaf packs and everything else cleaned up. I found a nice exhaust kit on ebay for a S10. I figured I could make it work and work it did. It practically bolted right on. Slowly but surely she's getting back to her prior self.
  22. She is going to look better than ever very soon. She's getting a full reduex again.
  23. Damn Ben, couldn't of found a better pic of her? 🤣
  24. Today I got the bed off the truck. If you're wondering why I'm completely blowing her apart again this is why... I thought it was a good idea to use her as a Jeep for about 3 years. This mud has been hanging on for over 5 years! Never again will this truck ever see mud.
  25. I feel like I've been here before...
