  1. Newer Grand Cherokee and Cherokee boosters can be fit with little to no modifications. They will improve braking.
  2. They are unlimited rubi coils so the long wheelbase wrangler would require a stiffer spring... I think. And the Rubicon had a 2 inch lift from factory, right? It would be a gamble. Thanks for the replies, Sam
  3. Hmm 125 bucks for a two inch front rubi lift isnt too bad.... thanks for the reply
  4. http://norfolk.craigslist.org/pts/3764196064.html I'm just wondering if the front coils and shocks will fit/ lift my 89 2wd comanche? Thanks, Sam
  5. First off, I know they are low on power and may be less efficient, but what makes the engine so bad? They may not be the perfect engines for the Comanches, but I've seen many vehicles with those older 2.8's with over 200,000 miles! I don't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers, I'm just curious why they are so hated.
  6. Check conditions of battery cables. A short in the battery cable could possibly cause this.
  7. Does it have a turbo? I think the biggest worry would be the weight of the engine. Maybe some cut bronco coils to keep the truck level? I know some perkins diesels were used in Mazda light pickup trucks
  8. Looking good! Are you going to use the stock exhaust, other than the retrofitted manifolds?
  9. I would say avoid the '00 and '01 cherokees. These often times had the 0331 head which, although they flow well, are prone to cracking. Not every single one cracks, but its still a threat. I have a 98 with one catalytic converter and I believe one upstream and one downstream o2 sensor. It runs extraordinarily clean and smooth even with 178,000 miles. I would aim to purchase either a 97 or 98 model year. If you buy one without ABS, you'll most likely have a Chrysler 8.25 axle underneath, which is beefier than the Dana 35
  10. Thanks for the replies all, I think I'll head to my local Harbor Freight and pick up a few of the cutting bits. I'll post end results in the pub sometime soon!
  11. Thanks for all the replies. It sounds like a fun time. :shake: Can I just use a large drillbit instead of a spot weld cutter? I'm on a very limited budget.
  12. I'm in the middle of repairing/replacing my floorboards, and I need to remove the frame stiffener that runs along the top of the "frame", and helps hold the floorboard down. How to I remove it? Thanks, Sam
  13. Looks really clean! Can't wait to see the progress!
  14. That is my custom e-brake handle made out of two exhaust hangers. I'm just so classy B)
  15. Pull up my floorboards and I find this. I guess it's a good excuse to get a welder :dunno:
  16. It would be a good idea, since you already have everything unattached. Spicer makes good U-joints.
  17. For someone who says they hate KJ's, you seem to be accumulating them at a high rate. :laughin: But very nice work, If only my shop was that big
  18. I happened to pick up a big coil of the line for 5 bucks at a yardsale. I just like the way it looks, and I figure it won't get brittle. :dunno:
  19. I just fabbed one out of copper fuel line. 1/4 inch line I believe. You just have to grind a little point on the ends to get them into the rubber fittings.
  20. I figure I might rent the autozone tool. I know theres some minor things you have to do to make the press work, but they don't seem too difficult. First I'll check the current condition of mine.
  21. I need to replace all my brakes because all the components are original. I'm not going to go through the trouble of getting my rotors resurfaced because they're so rusty and I want a beautiful braking system :brows: And my calipers are warped so :dunno: might as well do it all at once. Only old thing on my whole braking system will be the booster, master and drums, and maybe not even those for long  Should I do ball joints while its all out?
  22. Thanks all, Thanks for the responses everyone! Thanks Hornbrod, that is what I'm referring to. I'm relatively new to axle and brake work, so I'm using my Haynes service manual and CC as crutches while I learn. I have an O'Reillys nearby that I like, so I think I'll be paying them a visit soon. I'm assuming since you said I only need 2 bearing sets, those parts numbers are just for the rear d35? or am I mistaken and they'll fit the front too?
  23. Thanks for the replies! I'm replacing all brake parts with raybestos, hopefully it will all go smoothly! I figured while I was replacing brakes I should do the wheel bearings, any suggestions on what brands? I don't want cheap wheel bearings that will give up after a few thousand miles, so any suggestions? Thanks, Sam
  24. What calipers will fit a 1989 Comanche? I'm redoing the whole brake system, and I've found a few ones online but the majority are remanufactured. I want Oem to better than oem brand new calipers. Do xj front brakes fit on Comanches? Thanks, Sam
  25. Perhaps o2 sensor got unplugged during exhaust work?
