And now the wallet takes more of a beating. A 97+ Cherokee electric fan to add inline with the stock mechanical fan cause the manche didnt come with one from the factory, and It would get a little warm when I would get into the really soft sand. A long with a New flow cooler water pump, A high flow thermo stat, Thermostat houseing and new gaskets. Last but not least I won some datsun louvers for cheap on ebay! -

Hey everybody I have been on this fourm since I bought my Mj in Feb of 2012. I bought it with a rough country 4.5 inch lift up front along with a SOA conversion in the back and I HATE IT!!!! it rides terrible and looks dumb haha. But I am changing all of it so it won't matter. This winter I will put a 6.5 inch long arm kit on it just haven't decided which one yet. The truck is a 1988 4.0 Pioneer 4x4 with a automatic trans (not sure which one) and a np231. I have come to find out it was 2wd from the factory and has since been converted to 4x4 by a previous owner. It had 99,000 miles on it when I bout it and has about 101,000 now, It was born in canada cause It has a kph speedo, Celsius temp gauge and oil in bars pressure. It also has a block warmer. It does have some rust but nothing to bad and I plan on stopping it asap/ I have done alot of work to it and keep meaning to start a build thread. Its going to take a me a few days to get this build thread up to speed on where I'm at to day with it but Ill go a head and start it off. Here is it the day I bought it. And then the next day I thought I would see how it would flex

I went to the scrap yard recently and they weighed the truck before and after I unloaded the scrap and if I remeber right It was around 3200

What size tires are you running? And do you think it is even going to be possible to lock up the rears? I just found out I have absolutely no back brakes in my 88 mj, it explains why it stops like crap. Anyway, I am going to remove the level deal and anything else not really needed back there and cap it like your doing and them Do the brakes.

Fuel injector leaking questions.
Zebvance replied to Zebvance's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Got the new injectors in. Question, the blue thing on the end of the injector, is that a cap that I'm suppose to pull off or part of the injector? It has a hole In on the end of it and I can see the 4 holes in the Injector. -

Yes I never said I bought brand new ones. They are referbs. But I feel confident in them after talking with a sells person and watching the video of their cleaning and testing process on their website. -

What kind of oil to you recommend? Also I cleaned the intake with brake cleaner when I had it off of the head to put the new header on. I also noticed yesterday some of the new gasket over laps the hole but I don't think it is enough to touch the injector. Is this somthing I should be worried about or will it burn off? -

I guess I'm missing it, it doesn't say if the injectors he has listed for my truck are upgrades from new oem. I would like the four hole ones. Also are there vendors on the other forums that sell them for cheaper that a rebuilt, cleaned, tested and warranties them? -

Fuel injector leaking questions. I have a renix 1988 jeep Comanche 4.0. I have just put a pacesetter header on and installed everything back and I am leaking fuel out of the top of the fuel injectors where they go into the fuel rail. My guess is maybe the o- rings are bad? But all of them are leaking. I feel like it might be time just to put new injectors in completely. I have search on which injectors to get that will be plug and play but am having trouble on with ones will be a nice up grade and will not need a adapter. I need recommendations and Ideas as to the leaking fuel rail. I also put the snap clips back on and at first I thought they were not seated right but after messing with them it looks as if the are idiot proof. Also if I do just get new upgraded injectors will some body point me into the right direction as far as vendors or places to buy them and how much they might run.

Looking to add a electric fan, need suggestions.
Zebvance replied to Zebvance's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Wow guys did not know this thread blew back up. Anyway to keep y'all up to date I did order the 97= stock electric fan. I got it in a it fits perfect with out any modifications to my 88.I still have not hooked it up because I'm in the middle of a header and motor mount install. But I ordered a spal fan wiring kit but just the hard line one with out a temp sensor. so I'm going to hook it up to a relay and switch in the cab. I ONLY every have problems with it over heating in the soft sand on the beach, so thats the only time ill need to use it. oh and I overheated with pulling a friend out with my winch. But I was reving it to I'm guessing 2500rpms standing still in park to kep the voltages up a little. Plus I don't want to put that much strain on my little tiny alternator all the time any way. I also just ordered and received some 1979 datsun 240zx louvers. Got them for 14 bucks pretty sweet deal. Any way those should help also. Plus I bought and installed a flow cooler high flow water pump, high flow thermostat, thermostat housing, all new cooling hoses, and I flushed the system and that didn't make a bit of difference on the beach :/. So I hope between the louvers and fan I won't over heat on the beach anymore. and If I do It will be onto a better radiator. Then after that I have no Idea what I'm going to do if it still overheats... -
Long legggggeeed MAMA install
Zebvance replied to Zebvance's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I just cut it in half and welded it back together with a sleeve. Don't try and bend it around to make it fit... it'll only kink. I don't have access to a welder. Also my egr tube is shot. Its rusted to hell. And it looks like a port on the header for it to go into but it is plugged? I have also heard of people cutting off the egr tube and capping it. would it create any problems if I did this? -

Just be sure that the unions at the "Y" are tight! I've got the same header on mine only ceramic coated and just about every other time I crawl under it to change oil I have to work the pipes back together and tighten the clamps again. I suppose that's partly my fault for not putting a decent clamp on them. See if you can find some good band clamps while you have everything out of the way and throw away the exhaust clamps that come with it. Good luck! Thanks for the tip. What did you do for The egr tube?
