  2. Hey Alex, Do you know the breking point on the date of the '86 comanche that has the room for the 4.0? I've got the 2.5L and you're right, not a bad motor. It's turnin' my 32's just fine, just not the power of my cherokee. Too attached to my comanche to let it go. It's in the project forum. Getting ready to modify wheel wells. KO :chillin:
  3. Image Not Found 2.5L 5 speed.had conflict in diff's when bought,4:11 rear,3:73 front.4:10 now and seem to turn the 32x12.5x15 superswampers on centerline hellcats just fine.Need to mod the wheel wells tho.Tech sect has help.not sure of exact lift, my xj has 3.5" and i'm around 2" taller. need stock mj dimension. double tube rear bumper, roll bar, moon roof, rhino bed liner.Future: 44 axles or 8.8,lockers,winch bumper(have winch, don't know if gonna put on mj or my xj),paint(orig red)tint.will post as money fufills these upgrades.
  4. Image Not Found Project that some of you have helped me on in the tech section. Finally figured how to post pics
  5. Can't answer question, but it seemed my connection said i would have to do other mods if i stepped to 4:56"s. Noticed he had a whole shelf of good used lockers though,i'll see what he has to offer before i commit. thanx
  6. YEP! 3:73's in front. Got a connection for 4:11's to match rear until I do a complete axle upgrade. Considering a locker for the rear, don't wanna spend time and money on air locker until axle swap. Any suggestions for the weak dana 35c? Appreciate all the help from you guys, this site is killer! :chillin:
  7. Finally got around to checking diff in rear of 86' comanche that won't roll more than 15 ft in either direction without binding up,"axle wrap"? Assuming front has stock 3:55's,the rear has been changed out to 4:11's housed in a dana 35c. Will check front but was still hopin' for input from you guys if you can respond soon. It's 2.5L with lift and 31x10.5x15's. Want gears that will provide best for both on and off road.Maybe upgrade to 4:56,4:88's? Appreciate your input! Still playin' hell postin pic.But can be seen on cardomain.com. Thanx...............ko :chillin:
  8. 3:56 's best for 31"s.correct?Thanx.........ko
  9. Posted a while back about engine swap, reallyinterested in the 4.0 success. My 86 2.5 5 spd is nice and totally rust free! Gonna sell if i can't get it to keep up with my xj!
  10. i'm playing hell trying to post pic,it's posted on car domain.com but can't seem to transfer here? :headpop:
  11. will look into ratio's, no the truck was red,now heavily primered grey. will have to post pic soon. thanks for the help!
  12. 31x10.50x15's. haven't pulled covers on diff's yet. apparently a conflict there also, previous owner might have been in the middle of something, won't run with front drive line in.
  13. Bought a really cherry '86 comanche in mint shape with lift kit too. Only problem is the extreme lack of power from the 2.5 4 banger. Is it possible to engine, tranny swap to 4.0 or other? And is it feasible? Thanx for any guidence you could throw my way.
