I have a 1989 MJ with a Auto tranny. The shifter is on the column. The problem I am having is the little cable in the dash has broken that moves the indicator to show what gear its in. I try to fine a replacement, but the dealer does not have any. Does anybody know a fix for this problem and maybe I can fab. something that will work. thanks Tim

You may can fine those at a Dodge Dealer, thats where I got mine. They order the ones for a XJ the same year of my MJ. I had to do a little cutting to get them to work. Also check with Turners Jeeps parts. (770)992-1181). Are there web site is www.thejeep.com. The have anything you need for a jeep. They also carrier jeep parts for he a WWII jeeps. Maybe this will help you.
