  1. Has anyone placed recessed jk style driving/ fog lights into the original front bumper of their MJ? I seem to remember someone on the forum did them but I can't find the thread. All help appreciated. Thanks..
  2. Is this the type/kind of item you are looking for???? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATM-2282/?rtype=10 What size is the sending unit? :dunno:
  3. Search the forum ("dome lighting") and I think you'll find lots of answers to your inquiry. : Thanks for the reply. Seaching was the first thing that I did once I joined the fourm. I found tons of post on how people got their dome light working or post on lighting in general but I have yet to find one on where I can find new lights to purchase. Well I think that's because those lights are no longer sold/available. You can find "used" ones that will need work and attention to detail to make them like new, or aftermarket ones that can replace the originals. Most folks lately seem to be going toward the aftermarket ones that fit "closely" but are technically superior. I chose to go with the aftermarket ones as they are really well made and fit with only a small amount of work.
  4. First of all welcome to the group..we're all trying to be helpful to each other as we struggle with the little and the big problems that face us with our MJ's. One of those is the interior lighting. Search the forum ("dome lighting") and I think you'll find lots of answers to your inquiry. If after that, you still need help/questions, post another question. Again welcome to the insanity of MJ's.
  5. Finally I just got them out by using a home made right angle tool....a very short t40 tip held by a 1/4 box wrench..I tapped it lightly to break the bolts and to turn them a little bit to loosen them and then used a medium size flat bladed screwdriver to turn them the rest of the way out.... ...And thanks for the info on using allen head hardware...that's what I'm using when I put the new valve in...
  6. This AM I decided to replace the stuck EGR Valve on my 88 4.0. My problem is I can't get anything to fit in beside the existing valve to remove the t40 bolts. Anything longer than about an inch won't go in straight and tight and I don't wan't to strip out the bolts. Is a special right angle t40 tool needed ? Or how else can I get them out short of crushing the sides of the existing valve ? Or? All help appreciated....Thanks
  7. I was researching this topic today and ran across this thread. Question: Does anyone know the best way to bleed the Dot 3 fluid from the clutch master, slave (external) and lines? :dunno:
  8. Those cables are available thru most auto parts stores here in the US. Also, Rock Auto (www.rockauto.com), for example, has several for sale on their website for around $15.00 plus shipping and they ship internationally.
  9. No picture but it is the bracket held up with 2 small bolts and is located where the tail pipe turns to go out the side. The bracket has a single rubber "donut" on it. I need one from a SWB MJ as the LWB bracket is different there. Thanks for any help you can give me on this..
  10. OK great. Since I can still get the rubber "donut" even if all you have is the bracket that would still help me out. Thanks.
  11. I'm interested in this topic........
  12. I'm still needing a rear MJ tail pipe hanger bracket for a SWB ..anyone have one ?
  13. What was included in the garage quote? replacing u joints only or was something else included ?
  14. The 3 spoke wheel in my '88 measures 15 inches, maybe 15 and 1/8th.
  15. Boy That engine compartment looks great!..Hope your surgery went well and you'll be back wrenching soon! Best Regards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you want the original ones or the aftermarket ones ?
  18. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=27556&p=278505&hilit=emissions+timer#p278505 I think your options are: unplug it, buy a new one from Teamcherokee, or take the bulb out of the light..
  19. Don: Thanks for the heads up on the rubber piece..I was hoping to find both pieces someplace but no luck so far. If anyone is making a JY run soon and sees this bracket and the rubber "flattened donut" in usable/cleanable condition on a swb MJ, just let me know and hopefully I can work out a way somehow to get it. Thanks
  20. I need both the rear hanger bracket for a swb (52003019) and the rubber piece.(52001759). They should be easy to find in a jy but none of the jy's near me have any mj's in them. :dunno: Thanks
  21. Anyone have a rear MJ exhaust hanger they don't need?..I need one I can clean up and use...none of the jy's around here have any MJ's in them to pick it from.. Thanks
  22. Thanks for the info. Are the ones you got like the lines shown here for the 87-89 YJ's ??? http://www.jeep4x4center.com/crown-indu ... -lines.htm
  23. No. Never heard about them. What can you tell about them???????? Thanks
  24. Thanks to the advice I got last week from this forum, I was able to successfully disconnect my frozen rear brake hose line. Now I'm ready to replace it (plus the front lines also) with braided lines. I see many members have replaced their lines with braided steel lines but which ones are should I consider?.. I like the Crown lines I think but can't figure out if they fit an unlifted MJ as all the info talks about Cherokees but not MJ's. Like this one http://www.jeep4x4center.com/crown-indu ... -lines.htm All help and recommendations on this topic will be really appreciated. Thanks...
  25. I'm using a flare wrench that's very snug on the line fitting and the fitting isn't rounded off at all. May have never been wrenched before. On the Hose fitting I was using a flare wrench there too but after I cut the hose, I put a box end on it that is tight fitting also just to get more leverage. After reading the comments and advice, I've decided not to put heat on it but to keep soaking it with PB blaster for a few more days, then try the small hammer, tap, tap tap, approach above and see it that helps free it. Thanks everyone...
