  1. See my post on the original MJ group site [the spawn of this forum]. Also, those who wanted 'the' DVD - I need addresses!!!!!!!!!!! I burned several copies for them who sed they wanted one, and am sitting on them now, wondering where to send them. :hmm:
  2. In case anyone wants to see the Comanche on its primo last Moab trip - this trail is 'Fins and Things', click this link http://tinyurl.com/3exzud then click 'slideshow' Some dang good shots there. Many on three wheels. Even one of Petes! damn I loved that truck 8)
  3. I am soo close to pulling the 5 Franklins outta the bank right now. Urrrr! ok guys I will start burning the DVDs this weekend. I'll need addys. PS donations [for packaging, DVD-r, postage] are welcome but not required. I'm guessing between $5-$10 would cover it. Paypal is easy and I have the upgraded version so credit/debit cards should work. But like I said, if yer as poor as me you can stiff me the costs :D my PP acct is toocooljeep@netzero.net how did I f-up that post???? guess i'm an analog guy in a digital world
  4. Yea I know. dang Ok I will do some soul searching here in the next few days and decide by the weekend - one way or da udder
  5. I just got off the phone with the dude. He will sell it to anyone for $750, but he said he'd sell it back to me only for $500. I sold it to him a year ago for $1,000 so.... He took it to emissions and even with a hollow cat - it passed. He says its the same or better than when he got it [in terms of upgrades like trackbar drop kit, wheels/tires etc]. I think I see my old friend re-appearing in my driveway soon. If that happens, I'll be all over this forum like I was in my days on the MJ group because that damn Varmint was like family to me and an everyday thing. I have digitized a "best of" video, mostly of the MJ's wheelin days but it has some other jazz on it too so if anyone wants a DVD of it - lemme know and I will send you a copy. The audio is original but it has some background music dubbed in over it [Pink Floyds DARK SIDE OF THE MOON - entire album]. Its real entertainment - trust me! :D
  6. Whaddup, bro?? Ya I know Pete, I know... "Buy it back!" I probly will cuz I'm a sucker. I kept the rocker sliders and grill guard and light bar for it [just in case]. Plus I still have two sets of tail light assemblies, dome lights, side vent covers, yadda yadda yadda Scott took care of it as well as I did, so its still in awesome shape. But I still have a little voice telling me 'let it go' I went camping/wheeling in the XJ last weekend and have some campfire stories to tell about that trip [including one of a 6" x 4' log jammed in above my driveshaft and against my fuel tank] to tell ya
  7. Damn. The guy I sold my 86 to is selling it and I have first dibs. That was the deal of the sale. But I can't decide. It has some QUALITY lift parts under it but it still has that cursed 2.5L under the hood which is 99% of why I sold it in the first place. But geez it was the best off-road vehicle I ever had. I don't have the room for it, and love my XJ and Camaro too much to part with them. I do have a bud who has some acres in no-wheres-ville that may be able to store it while I track down a 4.0L and trans/t-case. Dammit I just can't decide. Those who know me know the work I put into it and how attached I was to it but it was under powered and I sold it for reasons. That and the ripped frame, even though I put a fix on that and it seemed to hold strong afterwards. gawd I dunno HELP!
  8. It don't happen all the time, as you can see, but it does usually. Hell I dunno. I'll deal with it. grr
  9. OMG! That old school 2-door Cherokee - does it have those old bias ply BFG All Terrains?! Those came stock on the Mitsubishi trucks if its what I think it is.
  10. I read a post and hit 'reply' and it directs me back to the page with all the different forums...pub, tech, etc. any clues??
  11. Mines on my white XJ but I don't have a pic uploaded yet. Pete - you know I don't save addy's so shoot me yers agin so I can send your Moab 2005 DVD video when I get it dun.. Rj fuzz xjs4ever@yahoo.com OR.... Comanche4x4@msn.com OR.... TooCoolJeep@netzero.net

    Hi Guys

Sure Pete. My PC needs more RAM and the video could use an upgrade so I can't convert analog to digital in the best quality the program allows but I will make the best disc I can. Its the capture frame rate speed that suffers but I doubt you'll notice. Cool part is, it will be divided into chapters so you can click right to any part of the DVD.

    Hi Guys

Just a note to let you know that I am always thinking of you and that I need to aquire another MJ to get me back into the swing of things here. This forum sure has grown since it was just an idea in Petes noodle a few years ago. I still visit the MJ list every few days to see whats goin on there but now I'm a stranger to everyone there so I basically keep quiet. Someone was on my website recently and downloaded my Comanche screensaver and get this - they sent me an email saying "you should put that up on a Jeep group!" geez I cracked up. I'm still not sure whether to write back and tell the dude that the screensavers been on our list for years but it never got much interest - but it remains there anyway. Anyhoo, take it easy and keep those MJ's happy. Rick in CO
  15. Not yet, Brutha. My lifes in the $hitter at the moment. But I never let go of my goals and another MJ is out there just gotta find it. GAWD do I miss my old 86!! I was thinkin of a 2wd one to hop up for the street and leave the wheelin to my '93 XJ instead. Later Bro. Keep in touch man my addy is xjs4ever@yahoo.com
  16. Looks just like the one I stuck in mine, also from a newer XJ, and it worked great.
  17. I have several vids on my site but I am in the process of buying some hardware that will allow me to pump any video into my new PC and convert it to mpeg's so soon there will be tons of footage in a few days.
  18. Pete/Alex - I for sure AM GOING in '07 no matter what. I missed '06 and broke a 4 year record so I guess a longer stay to make up for that is in order. Moab is a great little town and lots of fun to be had and every restaurant for every taste is there for the taking. Last year we never made it to "Pasta J's" or the best dang steakhouse just down the street from there so a return trip has to happen or our souls are damned. Alex - I feel your dial-up pain. I have hundreds of pics of wheelin trips in CO and UT and I can save you some loading time by sending them in the form of a CD or DVD if you like. Got great videos of those trips too.
  19. dang - I was going to play this out for awhile then drop the bomb on ya but ol Pete let the cat outta the bag :O) Thats Gabes '90 XJ behind me. Here is a link to that trip and all the trails we hit. That was taken at Gold Bar Rim and theres several different angles of my truck on that cliff also some of OVER the cliff so you can see how far the drop is. I'd say the best MJ pics available right now are the 2004 Moab pics that Pete and I took [those are also in my Photobucket site if you look for them]. If that link is too big, just click the link to my site and go to "trails" + "Utah" and you'll find them
  20. Hey I like that pic of the MJ on the cliff! ;)
  21. Yep I have my priorities, 'specially with a 66 mile daily commute. I just stuck a new deck in that plays mp3's and also will play SD cards and you can plug in an I-Pod or DVD player to play thru the stereo, plus a USB port for flash players etc. The subs sound great and drown out the rattle of tools in the tool chest. Its a start and has a long way to go. The Varmints new owner came over today and picked up a ton of MJ parts and trim and stuff. His 91 is just beautiful and makes me want to go buy one tomorrow but that will have to wait till next spring at least.
  22. Thanks all! Yea I like it. After I raised my 89 by 5" I always missed the loss of street sweetness so I decided to keep this one low enough to be a comfy DD but high enough to handle the class 5 trails. I am adding the locker in 3 months and should have the bump stops lengthened by then to prevent rubbage. I am replacing the painted bumpers with chromes next weekend. I have a drop pitman off a ZJ to put on also. :wrench:
  23. Ya I know its not an MJ but almost as good! In the interim of replacing the old Comanche, here's a few pics of the Cherokee. They're about 800k ea so its broadband city all the way... http://www.geocities.com/xjs4ever/temp2 ... 8270801531
  24. Way too cool! Just came back from vacate and there they was! I was especially proud to see the Old Glory version. I'll be passing them around. First set goes to Scott who bought the Varmint. Hopefully he will show his hide around here soon. YOW!!
  25. There is no joy in Muddville tonight. The Varmint has left with his new master and I was seriously choked up seeing my long time friend motoring away from home. But on the bright side, he has a bigger family now. Besides having a very reliable and caring new owner - he has a baby brother now. Scott [who will be joining the group soon] also has an absolutely gorgeous Black 1991 Comanche 4x4, 4.0L five speed with [i am guessing is] about 4" of lift. It is waaaay too nice to scratch up on the Colorado Rocky Mountain trails and he realizes it so he will keep the '91 as his show-boat city truck. The Varmint will be the trail rig which is what he's been built to be and what does best so he's much happier now I know. I pick up my 'new' XJ in a few days but am already on the lookout for my next MJ. When Scott joins the group, I told him to mention that he bought my truck so you'll know who he is. He's a super nice guy. Very courteous and polite, good sense of humor and not ignorant in the ways of the Comanche. You'll like him. I told him that you folks are the best friends we've ever had and to expect nothing but the warmest of receptions. You guys rock and I'm fortunate to be a part of something so perfect. MJ's FOREVER!!!
