  1. people are just so ignorant anymore, i understand the fact that the one guy most likely didnt know about his brother.. but the second comment was just nasty and unnesscary. i don't know, i don't understand people sometimes. -Jamie
  2. MERRY CHRISTMAS! --Jamie
  3. haha. thats hilarious but i can't really laugh, i mean, it wouldnt have occurred to me that it had a soft top on it lol. sometimes you just forget the simplest things. :dunce: ive been thereeee plenty of times  -jamie
  4. Ps.s.s. another reason I'm trying so hard to get out is that from what i know Oreilly auto parts is like l---l <---that close to buying us out and everyone is probabuly going to get fired and replaced.
  5. UPDATE: Had my second interview today at 8am. everything went really good, and I'm hoping for that last call today, or early tomaro. everyone that said about burning bridges, and 2 weeks notices and that sort of thing i appreicate the advice but, this is one place that i would really like to forget that i ever worked at. and as far as the 2 week notice, whatever day i get the call I'm going to tell him the following day that after jan. 3 I'm going to be leaving. I know i sound like a whiny little kid, but this is something that i just want to be done with. and on top of that, alot has come up lately and were thinking about moving away. :grrrr:
  6. Just curious, where did you get your three years of law enforcement? Military or civilian? And for sure - do NOT burn bridges. Hope you get the job. Actually it was 3 years in a technical school for law enforcement. but thats what I'm going to school for also. thanks :)
  7. Was it frozen? haha nope cali is getting a flood. kinda... northest pa has 0, the most we've had so far was like 1/2 in. :(
  8. OH, and their willing to help me work around my college schedule :) haha thanks everyone! its nice to recieve encouragement. I did call him back and now I'm waiting on his investigator to call me about my next interview and my background check. I really can't wait to just walk into keystone and be like.. "98% of everyone here I really don't like, those 2% of you I do like I feel sorry for because your going to be stuck here, but I hope we stay in touch. and to my boss, a big FU & I'm OUT" theres alot more I'm going to end up saying, but you get the point. lol
  9. Well, just so everyones not in the dark let me give a back story I hate my current job working for Keystone Automotive. Its like harassment central for me (only girl under the age of 40, and drives equiptment.) Its terrible to say the least. SO, at the beginning of this week I printed out several copies of my resume and just dropped them off with managers at every store I saw. On thursday, I got a call back from Marshalls (the clothing store) and they asked if I was interested in the LP position. I was like "well, I'm not exactly sure what the job desciption entails..." but I went for the interview anyway. It turns out that LP means Loss Prevention. They saw my 3 years of law enforcement and decided that I would be a good person for it The regional manager was a real nice guy, and he said "well, not only would it be here, but you would be loss prevention manager for the one in dickson city too. But we pay you to travel. And after the first few months or so you will be going for training either to philly, boston, baltimore, or florida. well you will have to go to all of them just a differant order." the pay is more than I'm getting now, and I get a raise rather early. Its full time and Ill have benefits(which is good since I don't have insurance AT ALL at this point) Ive only found 2 problems with this, 1.) the traveling alone. 2.) the unpredictable hours. but all in all, ive been crazy excited about it, and I'm actually going to be calling the regional manager back after i post this to schedule my second interview with the detective. Just thought Id share my excitement. and throw in the fact that since I'm going to have a normal job, my comanche will be my DD finally!! :)
  10. Welcome to the club! :waving: I'm not going to be of much use to you considering I'm not very mechincally inclined... but just wanted to say hi :D -Jamie
  11. haha :waving: thats awesome  -Jamie :D
  12. Just been crusin' around the forum lately and wow, theres alot of information here. I like it. Because now when I need something, or need to know how to do something, I can just some here instead of trying to deal with the incompetance of the highschool dropouts that work at auto stores around here. :wall: Another plus, I can surprise my boyfriend with things I've learned just by reading posts on here. Of course he already knows 99.8% of it, but it makes me feel smarter. I'm still slowly, but surely learning everything I need to know about Jeeps, and my little Comanche. I still haven't decided on a name for her, but I'm sure I'll figure something out. In regards to my MJ, not much has been getting done :( Clashing schedules, and the fact that it gets dark at 5pm have been a real PITA! Stress, work, more stress, and the holidays are slowing progress to a crawl, I wish there was more I could do, but I don't have the knowledge or tools to do it by myself during the day. :dunce: Just a little update with my thoughts. If you took the time to read this thanks. ---Jamie
  13. Yeah, for right now we just put the rear bumper from a ford ranger thats sitting around on it (had to do some cutting and welding, but I refused to weld anything to my actual truck so everythings just bolted on) and as for the hitch, theres one sitting around that we are just going to do some mods on so it fits
  14. Um. wow. These were almost all of the ideas I had for my MJ when I bought it lol. and now I know how its gonna look, where to get the parts, and how to go about doing it. Thank you!!! this is going to be extremely helpful. --Jamie
  15. Edit again, because I felt like a jerk. Sorry
  16. Well, thanks everyone!! I'm pleasantly suprised with all the feedback you guys gave me. 87Warrior- I already bought him all the tools, phenumatic included, I could get my hands on when he started his new job with a dealership lol. because that was my first thought as well. brdhntr- Also, a gun was another thought, but.....I'm not old enough to buy handguns :( But really guys, I can't say how much everything everyone posted helped. thank you thank you. as for my "probably-hopefully-soon-to-be" parents in law I really like the ideas everyone had and will probably blend a few I'm kinda strapped for cash, although is most likely doesn't sound like it. --Thank you so much everyone!!!! -Jamie
  17. So, obviously christmas is in like 24 days and I think I finally figured out what I want to get my bf. (since he been dying for one since his parents bought a 60in Hi-Def TV.) I was gonna get him a Playstation 3 and the Collectors version of Gran Turismo 5 I also got him a few little things here and there, but I was just wondering if that was going to be enough? I mean, he always goes over the top for me (last year he bought me a gun and a bunch of jewlery) I also don't know what to get his parents, theyve been like my own lately, (they let me move in last minute last febuary when things in my family got really bad) and I want to thank them AGAIN. --Jamie
  18. today I'm doing.... NOTHING!!! dammit >.< stupid rain/sleet/snow :fs1:
  19. Hey!! Names Jamie, Northeast PA, Pittston/Exeter area. :)
  20. NOTE: Have Taillights now. :)
  21. HI! My bf isn't exactly sure so he wanted me to ask everyone if you could help us out. Our question is can we take a 272 transfer case out and put in a 242 that has full time 4WD in its place? :dunno: the engine is a 4.0 and also if anyone has a vaccuum canister for an 87' with fittings on both ends. Thanks -Jamie&Bob
  22. I can't resist. What is the story behind this? http://forums.motivemag.com/showthread.php?4435216 "Every now and then we come across something so foul, so disturbingly stupid, so "WTF were you thinking," that we begin to question the legitimacy of our love of cars. This epic DIY failure is one of these moments. Posted to a friend's Facebook page, Car Lounger, papaskot, deemed it necessary to share with the rest of his automotive clan this DIY failure and in doing so, leapt into a rabbit hole so deep there's really no end in sight. We invite you to peruse our idea of what must have gone through the troubled mind of this enthusiast. Just be sure you learn from his mistakes." holy s***. what would drive a person to do that? UGH. :shake:
  23. Welllll, as of right now I just want to get it into an inspectable condition because my BF wants his Jeep back lol. All thats left for that is the floor, rear bumper (because as of right now there isnt one), some of the gauges don't work, I'm pretty sure I need an alternator, and thats about it because I know a guy that will inspect it then. Then I have to learn how to drive a stick. :shake: haha And come spring, the interior is getting ripped out and i want to get grey/black interior, the plastic trim peices are going to be "chrome carbon fiber", a new shifter (I wanna get a Hurst), new pedals, alot of new stuff OH and alot of switches need to be added for all the lights I'm gonna put on it. :D The exterior is going to be painted flat black and I'm going to get chrome pinstripes (everyone says silver, but they forget I work for a warehouse that sells aftermarket auto parts, and we have chrome pinstripes 8) ) lights on top, brighter fog lights, and I'm gonna mount lights over the side mirrors. perfably Hellas I want to get a 3" lift at the least for it, and 31" tires. I need to get a hitch, so I can haul our boat and stuff, but thats in spring too. OH thanks :waving: -Jamie I have big plans for my little Comanche, and shes gonna be beautiful
  24. No pic, but my best friend is a Full-size, Witness .45ACP All Black  http://www.gunsamerica.com/userimages/5 ... 296560.jpg
  25. OMG I'm jealous of your tool box!! Considering I don't even have one, I just steal my BFs tools. But really, I wanted to get a Matco. BF's tools? What a drag dude. But seriously, a nice set of tools is a great thing to have. Can't tell you how irritating it is to go to a friends house, and his stuff is mismatched and Chinese. Great investment if you want to get into the hobby/career. If you have his though, I assume you don't need to grab your own. But I am sure he won't mind getting tools that you want on his side of the tree for Christmas. Rob L. Awh I'm sorry, but yes a BF, for over a year. I blame him for my obsession with anything Jeep. Anyways, I would like to get a set of my own so I don't have to continue to steal them. I love workin on my MJ although I'm still learning. -Jamie
