  1. Thanks! I just ordered some. Expensive after shipping, but I'll be happy if they work. The originals have been broken for many, many years.
  2. Are those flat at the base of the stem, or did you have to modify the plate?
  3. I don't think those are the same because they don't appear to be hollow. The ones from eBay are almost as thin as paper and only molded on one side of the stem. You can flatten it out completely.
  4. The head is the right size. They don't have the flat section at the top of the stem, but you can insert them by flattening it out because it's hollow. The stem won't stay in the hole because it's too soft and narrow.
  5. Well, don't bother with the eBay fasteners. They don't work.
  6. There's a lot of information here. I think the question of what is missing is a great place to start. When I first installed the speakers, I thought they just didn't get loud enough, and it seemed to be missing the low end. But I haven't actually driven the truck with these new speakers yet, so I think I need to try that before I make any decisions. That was also before I installed the Dynamat. Somehow, my alignment got all out of whack. I don't know how that happened. I have an appointment for tomorrow morning to fix it, then I'll be able to see what the stereo sounds like while I'm driving.
  7. So does anyone know the specs on the B pillar screws? I found one of them, but the other is MIA. Hopefully it turns up eventually...
  8. I've been looking for someone to repair my OEM radio, but I want the cassette deck to be fixed. Would you be willing to do that, or are you strict on your no-cassette rule?
  9. That's a beautiful location!
  10. You don't need to buy the steering wheel puller or the wheel lock remover. You can borrow them from an auto parts store for free. They come in the same kit. Anyway, I see your problem. Your truck is upside down.
  11. Related question. I forgot to put these washers back under the carpet. How badly did I mess up? Do I need to immediately pull all the trim back off before I drive it? As you can see, one was already missing.
  12. Thanks! What condition are they in, and how much do you want for one?
  13. That's interesting. Why did you remove the rear speakers? The sales guy recommended this one if I don't use a subwoofer, or this one if I do. I'm not sure about his recommendations because I see much more affordable options out there. I asked him why he recommended the $469 amp, and he said it's because the power output was a better match for those speakers than the cheaper ones I was looking at. I'm not convinced that's a real concern. The entire cart he quoted for me for the amp+sub was almost $900, which is a lot more than I'm looking to spend. I was hoping to pay $200-$300 for the amp now, then possibly add a subwoofer in the future if I feel it's necessary.
  14. Renix. It's a 1990 with no trip odometer.
  15. Thanks for the reply. The deck does have RCA line level outputs. I guess I'll have to pull the stereo out and try to figure out where its power cable leads to. Maybe I can fish another one through there.
  16. I dropped the lens for my instrument cluster right as I finished polishing it. I broke the corner off. If anyone has one for me that will polish up nicely, please reach out. I promise to be more careful this time!
  17. I upgraded to the Infinity Reference speakers recently, and my head unit doesn't have enough power to drive them properly, so I'm looking into installing an amp. I talked to someone at Crutchfield and they helped me pick out the right equipment, but I'm not sure how difficult the installation job is going to be. Running the speaker wire shouldn't be too difficult, but it will also require running a new power line to the battery. I have no idea how to handle that. Will it require removing the dash? If so, I'm not sure I'm ready to do a job like that. I'm afraid of messing up the speedometer and so forth. Also, if anyone has had experience with these speakers, do you think they need a subwoofer, or will they produce enough low end once I get an amp hooked up to them? I'm not looking for a booming bass, but I'm not getting much on the low end right now without the amp. Going from the 4 channel amp to the 5 triples the price of the project, based on the stuff they recommended, so I'm not sure it's worth doing.
  18. If you buy a remanufactured power steering gearbox that isn't painted, paint it yourself before you install it. It WILL rust!
  19. Thanks! I can't believe I forgot about the door handle. I'm in trouble though because I can't find those two for the pillars. I hope they turn up. But I guess it doesn't constitute an emergency.
  20. I have two questions here. First, what screw goes into this hole above the B pillar? Is it one of these three machine screws in the photo? Second question. If it is these screws, where does the third one go? Am I missing it on another piece of trim somewhere? I haven't noticed any other screws missing. Or is it used to hold the jack in somehow? I can't remember.
  21. I don't know about the bucket seats, but the bench seat also has four washers in the back. Maybe it's not original? Who knows.
  22. Do you know if yours are original? Mine is also a 1990, and I have a bench seat. One of the bolts was replaced with a hole at some point so that one has a bolt going down into it instead, but I have no reason to believe the other ones aren't original.
  23. I went ahead and ordered the ones from eBay. It's a small enough money, I'm willing to take the risk if they don't work out. Hopefully they do. I spent a lot of time looking into those clips, and it doesn't seem like they're generally available, so I'll take whatever I can get.
  24. I could get a photo if you need it, but yes, it's a 13mm flange nut.
