I looked at them a couple of months ago and they were fine. I went through a bit of flood water on a dirt road about 3 days ago. Do I just need to spray with degreaser in my wheels or what?
-
I have a squeak in the fron like a hamster running on a wheel. It only does this when the truck is rolling and I don't notice it at high speeds. Just slowing down and coming off a stop. At idle there is no noise. Can anybody tell me what this squeak is? Gets faster as the wheels roll faster... Thanks!

What's wrong with them? I just like black aluminum rims and there's not much choice

Not even a photoshop? :dunno:

Anybody seen or have rockstars or XD series wheels on an MJ? I want some for mine but I don't know how to make them work. I'd like to see some on a Comanche and to know how it was done.

I found the ignition lock removal write up? Is this what I will ahve to do to replace the switch?
-
I had to pull my fuse which was completely rust welded in its place. I have not gotten time to crawl under m dash and unplug the box. Does anyone have instruction on getting that switch replaced? I believe this is the problem, but do to the notches being gone, could it be a rod inside the column? Thanks, JP

It's raining for once in TExas and my windshiel wipers will not cut off. The notches went away and they are stuck on high. So when the rain slows, my wipers still try and move. How do you get that fuse out of the block and what needs to be changed in order for me to switch settings and turn my wipers off? Thanks!

Vent line and oil leak! *pics*

Is this a seal that is hard to get to? Also, its not just the oil pan leaking? And should I replace the hose or not worry about it? Where else should I check for vaccuum leaks? Thanks! -
So when I was greasing my lift, I saw these tears in a hose up by my intake. I'm guessing this is my main intake. Could this be the vac leak that causes my truck to rough idle and die on cold start? I changed my IAC with little change in the idle of my truck. Is this available and easy to change? Next, when I put my lift on, there was no oil leak. I changed my rear main seal, oil pan gasket, and my valve cover gasket in March. However, I look under to snap a few pictures and there it is. Clearly ran out from the front of my pan. Should I try to tightn bolts? I would rather not break the heads. I put the expensive rubber and metal gasket. I know I have blowby but is there enough pressure to leak htrough that gasket? And all of the sudden? Thanks in advance!

It's been a while since I've updated. I've changed my rear main seal, valve cover, and oil pan gasket. I changed my water pump and that about it so far. Got my lift put on last weekend. Pictures will be posted soon. I've been daily driving it to school and work. My next projects will be diff fluids and a seal leaking in the rear :ack:

I had been planning motion offorad. They're one of the only companies that carries the lift. I didn't think I would need this. It's an extra $600. http://motionoffroad.com/catalog/index. ... cts_id=208

There's not that many lifts on the market. These are some of the most complete that I've found. I assumed these better than rough country.

I have the money and somebody to help me with my lift now, so I've decided to go 4.5". Can I get opinions on these 2 kits? I see the add a leaf in motion and spring pack in rustys. Rusty's has brake lines but no swaybar end links or bump stops. Motion has a good warranty. Thanks guys  http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchant.m ... sus_xj_kit http://motionoffroad.com/catalog/index. ... ts_id=1765

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with anything, but last week I drained my tranny and put new gear oil in. It's been fine. Today I crank my truck that has only sat 2 days, put it in reverse, back up, then when I go to put it in first, it win't move into any gear. I push my clutch in and out and killed it and restarted it. It did fine getting in gear and shifting on my way to work (town driving). I pull into the parking lot and go to park, move from second and try into first. Will not move into any gear. I pump my clutch and finally it slides into gear after me sitting in the way of other vehicles a few minutes. This puzzles me. I do maintenance and parts fail? I' ve been thinking slave. Seems to be a clurch problem, but I don't like my tranny anyway as its notchy and sometimes catches going into second. Has anyone had this problem? It's a renix 4.0/ BA10/ NP231. Is there anything I can check? My tranny doesn't seem to be leaking. On the way home it was fine? This intermittent problem seems odd. Thanks for replies in advance!

I turn my wheel about a quarter turn to the left and it clanks one time, but past that its fine. Every turn at that point it makes that noise. Any ideas? I put it offroad and it seemed to stop. Its definitely up front. Thanks!

Put Flows!

So I found that if you're driving in first, pull it into neutral and a hard left and down, it catches, but no grinding and it falls in gear? Could this be easily fixable? Somebody please help me before I pass this up!
-
I don't really have time for a transmission replace project, nor money at 16. Brakes are easy, but the transmission is way more difficult. Without that problem, I'd be all over this. Just not sure if I can afford all that :dunno: And I've never messed with ny of that, nor do I have many tools for these jobs.
-
Alright I went and looked at this truck. Factory bed mat, dana 44, 4.0 with pukey :ack: I drove it around a little. Cranks right up. A lot more get up than my current. No rust. Floors look great. I found a few issues. Looks like it's had some body work and the brakes are terrible. Hardly work at all... The transmission makes grinding noises when shifting from first to second. Master cylinder is full and not leaking. A/C blows, just not cold and the factory radio doesn't work. What could these issues be? Also, how much am I looking at for repairs? Seems like a nice little truck other than those issues. What else should I look for? Thanks, John

They do look really good. But seems like trouble. What are the center caps?

Found an MJ about 5 miles down the road. The guys had it. It was is father in laws and he passed away. He's asking $600. It'a and 88 4.0 manual 4x4 with 140K on it. It runs, haven't got to look it over much. Minimal rust. Factory bed mat. I'm thinking I'm going to pick it up soon. The old man was the original owner. A/C doesn't blow cold and radio doesn't work. Any input?
