  1. Has anyone found a way to fix/replace broken tabs on the backside of the center cap ? I have a couple of caps with 2 or 3 missing tabs each. Does anyone have any successful experience using the caps with a few missing tabs ?
  2. After the REM pointed to the O2 sensor, power, ground and continuity of old sensor were checked. That lead me to put the old BOSCH sensor back in. Now the ECU is happy ( O2 voltage swings ) and the engine goes into closed loop. Since the NTK appears dead and BOSCH is of unknown age ( although currently working ) I was searching for new one.
  3. 1990 4.0L AW4 About a year ago I did a basic tune (plugs,cap/rotor, wires) and a new NTK O2 sensor. Afterwards it seemed to run worse. Since the truck does not get driven daily I kinda accepted it. Recently I acquired a REM from a fellow CC member ( thanks eaglescout526 ). The REM showed the O2 sensor stuck at 3.1 V and the engine never entered closed loop. I reinstalled the old O2 sensor, a ceramic body BOSCH sensor. The REM now shows the O2 voltage swings and going to closed loop within a minute or two. I have searched for a MOPAR 53004245 sensor with no luck. The MOPAR sites either say "discontinued" or "currently unavailable". I did find one on a Canadian MOPAR site but they said they do not ship outside of Canada. If anyone has a source for the MOPAR sensor ( or an acceptable replacement ) please let me know. The NTK sensor is all metal and has the four wire to three wire connector. The old BOSCH has the ceramic body and is three wires the whole way. Looking here and on other forums it seems the new BOSCH are also all metal with the four wire to three wire connector. Thanks
  4. I am repairing the fuse block under the dash. Yes, the ones pointed out by GonzoTheGreat are the terminals in question. I have a similar tool as pictured which works great for a single wire terminal but will not work for the multiple terminal buss strip - unless there is trick I am not seeing. I believe I need to reattach all the wires presently used in the fuse block.
  5. 92 MJ I am attempting to repair a few terminals in the fuse block. Is there a special tool or technique for attaching the wires to the new buss bar terminals? The crimp tool I have is fine for single terminals but will not work on the 2,3,4 gang buss bars. I could use needle nose pliers but the crimps would probably be sloppy and not as secure as an OE crimp. Thanks
  6. 92 MJ . Can I use brake parts cleaner to help remove all this black goo? Also when its clean should I pack it with dielectric grease or OXGard?
  7. I would like to clean the shoulder harness straps. I have them removed from the truck. This includes the belts and the recoil mechanism. Will it harm anything to just put everything in a bucket of soapy water to soak, then scrub as needed and rinse ? Thanks
  8. Do you mind sharing where this dealership is so others can avoid a similar experience ? I am also in N.C.

Would it be possible to get build sheet information for this truck ?

  12. Yes, I am still looking for this. PM sent.
  13. I am looking for the passenger side bench seat mounting bracket and sliding rail. I actually only need the sliding rail portion but I know they are riveted together and somewhat of a pain to separate.
  14. Thanks for the JY detective work. Next trip to JY I'll look for RAM trucks.
  15. I pulled the bench seat out for floor repairs and refoaming of the seat. The seat had been difficult to adjust and was wobbly so I took a look at the sliding rails. On he passenger side rail assembly the roller bearing/retaining clip and ball bearings are missing. Do not ask how, they were missing when I got the truck apparently. Anyway, I was hoping someone here who had swapped out their bench seat for XJ buckets and separated the bench rails from the mounting brackets might be willing to sell me the rails so I can use them. If so please let me know. Thanks
  16. I just got a decent JY 1996 XJ booster and MC. MC seems OK but I would like to rebuild it. I have had no luck in finding a rebuild kit for it. Does anyone know of a source for these kits ?
  17. Thank you - now to find some workable weatherstripping for the bottom.
  18. Does the sliding portion of the window have a piece of rubber weatherstripping at the top similar to the piece along the bottom edge ?
  19. If you do the MJ/ XJ parts swap, I would be interested in buying your old MJ slider rails. My passenger bench seat slider is missing the roller bearings and clips making the seat wobble and hard to adjust. The seat came this way when I got the truck which is odd as you have to disassemble the slider rail to remove them.
  20. I am done with the cancer surgery on the floors and getting ready to make and install the floor pans. Should I bother cutting out floor drain plug holes ? Are they ever really used since they are covered over with carpet and floor mats ?
  21. These can not come soon enough. I was dreading having to fabricate something to attach my seats to.
  22. Thanks for the tip, I would not have immediately looked there as at first glance it looks OK. Is that just a vertical seam covered with seam sealer and then painted .I do have some bubbling with some rust underneath and I can see the seam with a little scrapping. It looks like it will be a royal pain to address without removing the bed. Any suggestions ?
  23. I don’t know if they are available separately but one came on my new MTS pump. Good thing as the old one was unuseable.
  24. What has to be removed to assess the integrity of these seams ? Headliner, B pillar trim, trim below window/behind seat ? I am seeing moisture in the lower rear corners.
  25. Thanks, Looks like a good idea for the felt portion. Did you do both lower and upper portions ? Did you purchase the felt locally or from the internet. Do you recall from whom / brand / part No. ?
