  1. that's my excuse for doing a 97+ front end swap  oh wow. :rotf: ok thanks for the info :D Brandon
  2. dose any body have a chart of mj crash test ratings? after saw 88pioneer get in his car wreck at 10 miles an hr  i have been wondering what is the crash test rating? thanks yall Brandon
  3. did any body see that rear bumper?!? its not bent all to hell nor did i see any rust OMG! lucky :D Brandon
  4. ok well now i think i got it, tell me if you think so to. i will be looking for a part out xj year 87-96 with good gears and not so much the rear axle. i will still look for a dana 44 rear axle and a 8.25 (only year 96+). but if i can not find either then i will start looking for a out for a ford 8.8 or jeep 8.25 or dana 44 for the rear. but for now i will just part the hell out of a jeep and keep the dana 35 :( out back till its time to update. i will get "lunchbox Lockers" for the front dana 30 axle and one when i get the newer rear end. my last ? is is there a right up for the ford 8.8 in the mj? Thank you all i hope that my mj will turn out half as good as some other "mj Gods" around hear. Thanks  Brandon
  5. ok thank you for clearing that up for me. so now i have another and i know ive kinda brought this up b4 but where do locker's come in the mix? are they for the for 8.8 to? or even the 8.25? and do you put them in the front also? Thanks Brandon Edit: i just remembered if i do go with a ford 8.8 how would the gears match up with the front dana 30?
  6. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: thats a good one. i have many plans and yet when it comes to get down and dirty its trying to find out what parts you rly need is the hardest thing to do. Thanks tho i rly need to up date so far last weekend i fixed my floor board, painted it with rust stopping paint, put the carpet back on and put in the headlinner  but sadly due to this FL heat it fell (and because me and my dad had no idea how to put it on) @#$%ed up the corners and did not use enough spray  so at least its not so loud in the cab any more :D and only the midle fell so what ever. now this week some time I'm waiting on my new bumper!!! i was told by the guy at a shop that i would have had it 4 weeks ago :shake: so who knows when I'm getting that :rotf: and my dad leaves sunday for las vegas auto show for his work for motor age magazine. so no work will be done this weekend :( ill update it by the end of tomarrow, with alot of stuff. thanks all Brandon
  7. man what is with that supper jack? what is that? i don't think ive ever seen one right on Brandon
  8. yeah but i just don't care about the brakes lol i don't mind drum brakes. any ways so from what i have read in this thread has completely flipped what i thought before. over the past 7 or so months as i was building up my "list" it allways seemed in the back of my head that the dana 44 axle was the gold at the end of the rainbow. but now it seems that its ok at best and i rly should look into a 8.8 or 8.25. so have i just been reading it all wrong over the past months or what? I thought that when it came up to it this would be easy to do and find but now its just :dunno: every where :ack: Thanks Brandon
  9. so are 33" tires "big"?
  10. so like a 3:55 or 4:10 would be what I'm looking for then? and they are gears that can also be found in dana 44's right? thanks Brandon
  11. my dad said " he doubts it. NAPA does not carry much specialty bolts". he would know. Brandon
  12. I highlighted the important part for you. 4.10s are common in 8.8s, available in 8.25s, and super duper rare in 44s. are 4:10's good? btw what is a good gear rate i should also look for? thank you Brandon
  13. thats a fast way to tell the two apart maybe one day but for now a dana 44 will be of my choosing  who knows if i can find it a dana 60 would beat them all :brows: Brandon
  14. i tryed both lol but thank you. and i would only go with a 8.8 if it was easy two use the ford explorer to part out but i can't I'm looking for somthing that i can just rip to hell then scrap, maybe some day i might upgrade but for now a part out cherokee with a dana 44 rear end is my best hope. also thank you for that chart I'm saving that for future use :D Brandon
  15. :( to bad i thought by what the drain plug looked like it was the 8.25 :dunno: but that just reminds me i have a lot to learn still :ack: thank you now i know i don't want it. Brandon
  16. aint that a ford axle? and thank you pete what about the 90's 8.25? and just wow Geonovast Brandon btw this is the axle I'm looking at out of a 1990 jeep cherokee. hears a pic:
  17. how good is the 8.25? dose it measure up to the dana 44? thanks for the info Brandon
  18. sounds like you got your self a nice mj. welcome :waving: but you have to watch out people love to spend your money :rotfl2: Brandon
  19. yeah thats what i get when i go them to..nothing. did u find any thing else that makes a good story tho? :brows:  Brandon
  20. i put the "code" around it looked like this: Brandon
  21. yes auto, yes great engine, no full gauges, i how ever will part the hell out of the cherokee and that is why I'm looking for the best match. sry i need to be more spesific. but thats hard to do because i just don't know what parts ill take out. if i got a 91-96 how much more work am i looking at to get the parts to match? and yes i know finding a d44 is going to be hard to do but i know thats what i want there for thats what ill get :D thanks yall Brandon
  22. That looks great :clapping: Brandon
  23. just y? Brandon
  24. rust much?
  25. ok thanks yall. so its for the most part a no go on any thing newer then 1990? i was thinkin 96 and below but :dunno: thats y i asked :D Brandon
