  1. Crown Automotive is a solid brand in the Jeep world so I would not worry about the price, under $50 for a valve cover is pretty normal. Just double check the part number matches your 1987 2.5L before ordering. Sealing the leak will not cause head gasket issues, that is not how it works. While you are in there check and replace the PCV valve since a clogged one can build crankcase pressure and create new leaks elsewhere. Use a new gasket, clean the surfaces well and do not overtighten the bolts. Pretty easy job overall.
  2. i recently returned my 69 bronco back to stock suspension. i currently have 33 x12.5 x 15 pathfinder a/t tires. they look new but have a 2017 date code. i am looking for suggestions for a set of 31 x 10.5 x 15 tires which have a fairly aggressive look . ride good, and not too noisy.... and reasonably priced. i do not drive off road and not many miles per year. suggestions are much appreciated and maybe a closeup pic of the sidewall. it is also my understanding that the equivalent metric size is 265 x 75 x 15. the wheels are 9 inches wide.
  3. I recently got back from an overland trip where someone had installed an on-board welder to their Mercedes bus. The set up came in handy several times throughout the trip for welding back a broken hitch, an A-frame for towing, fixing a broken roof rack, etc.. I have been looking around and can't seem to find any on-board welder instructions that I trust. Does anyone have any pictures, plans, or advice that they would be willing to share?
  4. I have a cheaper $70 generic self darkening helmet but I see helmets as much as $500. Is there big differences in their performances the more you pay or are more or less paying for a brand name.
