  1. Awsome! I'll see if I can find anything else. I didn't even know he had these! Nor did my grandfather. I found them and just looked at me like I was a magician. Shoved way back in the building with tarps and old rugs on top of them
  2. So my great grandfather has let me have free reign of his outbuilding and let me take a peek in and allow me to shuffle things around. I stumbled on this. I know they are windows, perhaps the side vent windows? Glass is not a single but messed up, rubber is squishy and soft as ever and I just had no idea these were even here. Anyone have a clue?
  3. Ah I understand apologies, I didn't know if the listings were a tad different due to various locations. I kept eyeing that one until I realized It was manual, can't drive manual🤣
  4. Just going off of what I have seen. Which ain't many but all I've seen around my area at least
  5. Oh I totally understand, I did find this. I have no idea if you saw this one or not but it seems in super good condition. Bit of a drive from you I think but this may be what you are looking for I hope?
  6. Well either way you go either '86 to '92 they will need work. For example I got mine off my grandfather for 3k and he was the only owner. Purchased it with 169k miles all OEM parts hoses and rad included [which I am replacing now] all are good choices although I haven't seen many '88 models like mine. I've seen lots of '86 models, '87 models and even 90's but 88's, '91 and '92 I haven't seen many of. If you can get one with a mechanically sound engine and Trans I'd go for it. Mine was babied and nursed since '88 but they are out there. I'd say a healthy range is 3-6k 7-8 if it's basically new
  7. Ah, more than likely they are. Sediment in the bottom may have been slowly eating away at the bottom for years. So I'll probably order a aluminum radiator regardless if it needs one or not. It appears in the corner on my passenger side radiator right behind my fan it looked wet. Exclusively the corner and looks like it drips and runs down onto the rubber skid guard beneath. It's not internally burning it. No white smoke out the tailpipe, no milky oil no blown gasket. So yeah your probably absolutely right about the bottom being corroded with dirt....etc. But the guy that has been working on my truck previously will be able to see Tuesday which I'll be glad when that day comes so I can get it fixed
  8. Well I don't run my AC sense I have no air, it blows hot air. But it is coming from the bottom passenger side either radiator or AC condenser. I know it's sort of spitting it out onto my bumper through the gap of the frame and bumper itself. Now do I know which one? No unfortunately. But I do know it's small and on the passenger side. I don't know if coolant runs through the AC condenser [my automotive knowledge is limited and I thought I ran 2 radiators at first look] so I don't entirely know how those work. I know it's for my AC but have no idea if it's got coolant circulating in it like a rad. I will have to convert my freon to somthing else since what it used to take is impossible to find. But yeah. I don't know if coolant circulates through the AC condenser or not. The fella on here thar installed my Mac tank is going to look at it Tuesday and tell me. I have a vague idea of what it could be. But I can play the "could be game" and bounce back and forth pondering. But yall are a huge help and definitely help me understand the inner workings of my truck. I'm always happy to learn and know more stuff when I can!
  9. Oh lol yeah. Everything I have on my truck is OEM except my Mac tank and all that....yeah so a lot is due I think. Hoses I had done previously. So I'm definitely thinking it's my radiator. I'll probably replace the AC condenser too when I do my rad. I'm going all aluminum off rockauto. Miraculously the fins on my rad aren't bent or messed up! So flow isn't restricted. It's just tired from being 34 years old I suspect
  10. Lol can do. I'll see if I can pinpoint it. Makes it difficult when the area your looking for his hidden. But the good thing is is that nothing is soaked in coolant. So whatever it is it small thank God
  11. Maybe I do have that laying around but I've never taken anything off of my vehicles. I'm afraid of breaking something. But I'll probably pull my grill and see if I can see something. Just going through and finding the weak spots in this 34 year old cooling system. Doing it step by step one peice at a time. It is frustrating seeing as it's just one thing after another but hey. That's the fun of owning a classic!
  12. Oh absolutely. I sadly don't have the tools to pull some stuff out of the way, I am however taking it to a place and have a guy look at it Monday or Tuesday. It's very drivable. It's not an alarming amount of coolant either but I do notice it. I have never seen any coolant on the ground [fresh wet spots under the rad/motor except today when I drove it about 5 minutes down the road from work and pumped gas. Then I noticed it dripping heavily. From where? No idea. Then I gey back in and drive home, park and then leave it running to see if I see anything. No hints on where it's coming from nor wet spots. I just notice when my motor is ice cold the recovery tank does lose some coolant from where coolant was lost and then my Mac tank pulling from there to compensate for the lost coolant thus filling it. But if it does happen to be the rad all in all with a small crack is the rockauto aluminum radiator a good option? I don't know if those are reliable at all if anyone knows for sure
  13. So every since I had my Mac tank put on and system converted my truck has cooled phenomenally. However. I have noticed a small leak coming from.....somewhere? I cannot pinpoint it I have tried. But I managed to capture this when I got home. Anytime I drive it somehow or another I find coolant on my bumper on the passenger side. I'm baffled. I have found some on top of my battery [2 or 3 droplets] and I find more on the rubber protector below my pully system. It is coolant because it's got a greenish tint to it and has a residue when you rub it in between your fingers. I have had both top and bottom rad hoses replaced simultaneously. Question is. Would it or could it possibly be the radiator itself? The gills are not bent and actually looks really good! It doesn't look wet either. Except the corner on my passenger side when I squeeze up under it. I don't know if it could be the Rad, petcock or something else? If it's the rad would a rockauto radiator be worth getting for my '88 Comanche? Or better yet the aluminum option? Just asking since I had that slip up with the reservoir tanks. But any possibilities would be appreciated. If it's the rad I'd love to know if the aluminum option off of rockauto is worth it, thanks fellas yall help a ton!
  14. Alright! Can do will do. I'll keep it at the "cold" line
  15. So a general question about the recovery tank on my Mac tank. The tank does absolutely amazing. The Mac tank is absolutely full. I checked the coolant in it a few minutes ago and when I opened the cap it oozed cold coolant all over the top of the tank and my hand. The question is I know on the coolant catch tank tank [white tank seen below] has a cold and hot marker. I have had coolant at the cold mark and it seems to gradually go down with time. With this being a recovery tank should I have it at the "cool" mark on the recovery tank?
  16. I got an all original 1 owner from my grandfather. Definitely shoot for stock ride height. They are tremendous grocery getters [yes I baby mine despite it built to be a work truck] but I got mine for 3k on the penny. If you get one I'd pay 5k at most. And even for that price it should be in almost impeccable condition and or a Olympic edition. But welcome to the group!
  17. It is sad that hardly any of these things are on the road these days. What few I have seen I will actively try to turn around and go talk to them. Either I lose them or I'm stuck in traffic. It's also sad teenagers get there hands on these and trash them. Granted I'm 21 so I'm probably considered a "kid" on here with limited automotive knowledge but seeking it where I can. I am trying so hard to get my hands on another 'manche with high hopes to save them. But I just can't seem to find them near me, if I do find them they're not for sale or on the verge of disrepair. Luckily mine is all original except my coolant tank few steering components and oil changed every 3k miles. It's genuinely sad these are junked. But It's so damn cool and fascinating we stick together and help keep each other running. Couldn't ask to be in a better car community.
  18. And oh my he's done fantastic work on my truck. Though I will ask about the Mac tank. When yall say "fill to the top" do you mean to the top of the ring? Or up to where the overflow nipple goes to the reserve tank? I'm just making sure where "full" is on this tank so I'm cautious and don't mess it up since these tanks are hard to see in moderately
  19. Yeah I plan having my aluminum tank installed and the recovery tank installed as well. Only fill halfway correct? And the recovery tank should be empty or should that be filled about halfway?
  20. Okay! I have found the original window sticker for my Comanche from 1988. And oh my god. I have no idea if any of you still have yours but this is a trip through time I swear! I'm only 21 and this fascinates me that this was somehow still in my glove box which mind you I never bothered to check until as of late. Then I found this and every single document to this truck back when my grandfather bought if off the showroom floor. Hell it even has the salesman's name on it! I figured I'd share with you guys since this astonished me that this is even still with my truck despite me being the 2nd owner
  21. 177k original miles and growing strong. Bought on Halloween on 2020 from my grandfather because his vision is getting terrible and wanted it to go to a good home where he knew it'd be taken care of. When he does see it pull in the driveway. He always smiles. Been owned by him since '87
  22. Thank you sir. So all I need is the Mac tank and the plastic overflow tank to hook onto said tank. The picture I posted below is a early to mid 2000's dodge durango upper radiator hose. I'll be visiting my mechanic soon. So as the list is its 1. Mac's aluminum tank 2. Plastic overflow catch reservoir And that's all I have. I feel like I purchased this hose yesterday out of sheer panic lol. And the aluminum tank does indeed have a outflow nipple like the plastic one does right? So the plastic one has a inflow of the side where it spits the coolant in said reservoir meanwhile there is another nipple/hole at the bottom of the tank that sucks the coolant out. Does it have a bottom outflow nipple?
  23. Thank yall! I'll have the tank installed and the plastic overflow installed as well.
  24. I must ask. With this Mac tank coming in does it have a bottom nipple? Like on the plastic ones the one on the side is the inflow and the bottom is a outflow. Because o may be able to just get it then attach the two hoses. If that is all I need to do when I get it?
