I just showed my girlfriend a pick of Jr's XJ. She say's "thats f'n ugly". :rotf: LOL, poor Jr. can't win on the track and can't build a decent looking XJ with more budget than any of us could dream of. what a loser. If i had that much money to spend on a jeep...

I looked at that site. Doesnt look like they carry a rear bumper. There are plenty here: car-part.com

This jeep had been sitting near the coast in clearwater for who knows how long. salt air i guess?? you should have seen the old gas i poured out of the tank today. nasty stuff. dark brown like guiness but no head. and yes, i am sharq on naxja. some douche who had 2 posts in back in 2004 registered the username shark. they won't give it to me because they said they don't delete usernames ever. i tired to get them to give it to me after i got tired of the username tigerShark. now i don't feel bad that I'm not a paying member anymore. maybe if my name was in red they might think about it. whatever. -
Go to LKQ in Tampa. can't see them charging more than $20. Hwy 41 and Causeway.

Switched to photobucket. Hopefully the pics will be better. Took the 97+ panels off my 95. Went back to the old panels on the XJ. Damage from the leaky clutch master. Scrap shelving I'm using to repair the floors. Test fit. -
yeah, i feel you man. my daily driver XJ is herculined and i have no a/c. it's brutal. i live in tampa. the MJ I'm building now will have plenty of insulation and a/c. i don't care how much it costs. wasnt so bad this winter. now that my girl is driving my other XJ i have to drive my trail rig every day. 1/2 hour each way. brutal.

looks solid, man. wish mine was that nice.

i love the sound of the flowmaster 40 on a 4.0 with no cat with 2.5" pipe. all my buddies love it. ive been running it for years on my daily driver XJ. plenty of sound. you won't be disappointed.

i wouldnt waste my time with a d35 since you have to weld new perches on anyway. go to an 8.25 or an 8.8. my 2 cents.
-
That sure is an expensive cat-back for a jeep. Rusty's make a cheap flowmaster cat-back and they also sell the exhaust pipe by itself for the XJ but i don't see one for the MJ. anyone know where to get a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust pipe?

seems the more i work on this thing the more carnage i find. i took out the rubber floor covering today and guess what? ...yeah:( passenger side isnt too bad. driver's rear i also got the tank pulled. figured out why the the pump and sender as so F'd up. the tank has holes in it. why is this truck so messed up? on an good note, i did get my 97+ washer reservoir installed. i cut the hole with a hole saw and some metal shears. plenty of room for the ecm but i did have to move some harness grounds. -
the voice of reason has spoken, folks. thank you, sir. i think i can live live with that difference in rpm. we are talking about a very small difference in rpm but if youre talking about long distances that could be a huge differece in mileage. as i said, i don't do a huge amount of interstate driving. conversely, I'm not building a trail rig here either. I'm building what could be called a resto-mod(itll have a an 8.8 and a 97+clip, etc.) but it will also be a daily driver. i couldnt afford a new truck(i wanted a dakota) so I'm building the next best thing. i would like to build a stroker for this truck at some point too but that is another story.

4.10's are better if: you don't mind trading a small amount of highway RPM for a small amount of more power off the line i think this might be the key right here. i do most of my driving in town. i see very limited highway mileage. if i do see highway mileage its to the junyard on the other side of the bay or down south to the good beaches and during football season. go gators!

thanks for the reply. i did some research and found that to be true.

ok, now I'm really torn :(

How much of a difference is there between the MJ and XJ tanks? can a XJ tank be made to fit in my comanche? trying to get around the fuel pump issue. If i can make the XJ tank fit i won't have as much of a problem finding another pump sender unit if i have another problem down the road.
