Original owner of a 2004 Jeep Liberty Renegade 4x4 Drove this thing to high school and it's still going strong. Made it to college in Missouri and back to NJ several times. Never stranded me. Lots of hockey gear/friends/unmentionables occurred in this thing. Pretty much stock everything. Minus the rusted out rock rails that I had to remove. 3.7L V6 4 speed automatic with roughly 215k miles

Is it possible to add these to an MJ that doesn't have the slots on the passenger side for it? Will it hold if you lift up the black trim? Only asking because my '90 MJ does not have the inserts for it and the other cupholder option seems to spill everything above 15-20 mph
