No thread yet. I'm gonna wait till its complete. Its still waiting on paint, I have to repack the bearings, and figure out some rear sprocket issues. I may have to replace the entire rear hub. :fs1: -
So....I'm screwed huh? :wall:

Not sure yet, but if it does I'll rip that sucker off and find a cap of some sort to fill the hole -
Yup. :rotf:

How in the H E double hockey sticks does the shift knob on a column shifter come off? I've tried spinning it, yanking on it, shooting it with a bazooka, and screaming at it, but no luck. I've only gotten it off like 1/4 an inch so far :headpop:

Looks great, but your mounting brackets kinda scare me. Is that just a chunk if 2" channel? :hmm:

Sub Box and Sub gotta have it!!
MJ is dead replied to knever3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Nice find, but I'd rather stick to a more reputable company like pioneer, kenwood or MTX. They all offer a slim sub now, and kenwood ans MTX both offer a slim all in one unit too. No need for an amp to bash around too -

Couple of quick, retarded mods. I don't smoke, so i put a little Electric sticker over the Cigarette symbol :brows: Image Not Found And while checking some stuff out for future seat clearance, I FOUND MY SLIDING REAR WINDOW CLIP!!!!! Image Not Found Put a dab of windshield urethane on her and popped her in place  Seats and bumper this weekend, and I'll try to get back to the cargo topper if everything goes smoothly Its a jeep, it never does -
Ok here's the pics. Basically I had to take the seatbacks and switche them between the seats. the boltholes and trim were almost identical, I only had to tri one trim piece on the drivers (former passenger's) side to make everything fit Image Not Found This USED to be the seat bottom of the passenger side, now its for the drivers. I know I know its very confusing. But now i can clear the trans tunnel Image Not Found This is how the Drivers side folds up Image Not Found And the passenger And this nifty little cupholder was under the seat that became the passenger side. unfortunately it is obsolete since I switched the seats around. I'm either gonna try to fab it into the Drivers side or put it into a center console if I fab one Closed Image Not Found Open Image Not Found Now to make them work :wrench:

Thanks! I knew one of you old timers would be able to help out. The only experience I have with old m-spec jeeps is reruns of M*A*S*H :dunce:

Yeah, I've already heard what a PITA the seat bolts can be. Gonna start "blasting" them starting on wednesday Sorry about your face :rotfl2:

Wondering what the hood markings on old military jeeps symbolized? Squad? Division? What? I'm no army boy, and am curious what some common notations were. I need to know what digits to stencil in on the jeep bike. It gets sprayed tomorrow. Yes it WILL be OD green. Any pics will be great!

Ok. Near as I can tell I'm ready to rip the bench out and bolt these in. Gotta wait till the weekend tho. I'm an avid biker, but making the 8 mile trek to work by pedal doesn't seem too fun. Had some seatback problems this weekend or it would have gotten done. Also spent most of the weekend working on the jeep bike instead Slightly off topic, but what do you guys use to clean the vinyl floor mat? I wanna replace it with carpet, but that will be later this summer when I fill in the flinstones hole and get a center console fabbed up. I'm thinking a 3m degreaser, rinse, tire cleaner. Whadaya think? Pics tonight or tomorrow, I promise

Nope. Until I can either build a center console or snag one out of an xj the armrests stay put. I'm hoping to get these in this coming weekend. Well the drivers side anyway 8) -

Bikes are way easy to fix, so many people toss them out cuz they think they're broke. There really isn't much that can go wrong with a bike, and most things can be fixed for under 40 bucks. But people tossing out bikes is a good thing for me. I have 5 now. And the jeep bike is almost done. :D -
Yeah yeah. I do 95% of my posting via blackberry. Uploading pics from that is a major PITA, but maybe tonight I'll go steal internet from a nearby apartment complex and get them up for ya.

Ok. A little good news today. I started gutting the seats in preparation for switching the frames to clear the trans tunnel. Much luck because I didn't even need to do that, all the tilt mechanisms are in the seat backs, and the bolt holes are universal between the seats. Simply switched the seat backs and I'm good to go. The neat thing about these seats is they lean all the way forward, since they were in the cargo area of whatever vehicle they came out of. No need to worry about the tilt mechanism from a 2 dr xj. Just a little fabbing and I'll at least get the drivers side in this weekend

I'm with the clogged vents theory. My nissan had vents on the hood for air exchange, and every fall or winter I would have to pop the vents off and clean the crap out of there, or I got no heat Mice can really crap on your tea party. I bought an old datsun pu from a farmer who couldn't figure out why it was running rough. Turned out a mouse had built a nest between the carb and air cleaner. Problem solved

Yeah... If you live in South Dakota, you're screwed
