  1. You want to try and keep the angle of the trac bar and drag link the same ie. parallel.
  2. Right tools for the job? I do see at least one required tool..The six pack of Miller Lite.
  3. where can i find some long shocks? I have a ride height measurement from the coil spring bucket to the top of the fender (where shock stud goes thru) of 29"....I am not having much luck finding any unless I go with resevoir style....whewww ya talkin big $$$ then.
  4. I knew that was coming  ..All I had was my camera/phone..I am gonna get some good pics of it this weekend...Man I hope my drivelines get ready today so i can put em in this weekend.
  5. No the jack is holding the pc of tube so i could see what it was going to look like with my tie rod on top of the knuckles. 8" skyjacker coils, ACOS, and bottom spring bucket higher due to axle modification. Got my drag link and tie rod done last night..1 1/2" dom tube and hiems with teflon bushings..Looks pretty cool. :D
  6. 4wheelparts.com---------------procomp 3000series $35 each...priced em yesterday.
  7. Yeah i havent seen JJ used for steering either but thought that it would be better than the hiems if i can make it work. Especially on the road. Yeah i know..Trying to create a better wheel.
  8. Didnt get pics but got the front and rear brakes done along with the pan hard bar. New driveshafts and steering components go on first of this week..Plan on being able to drive by the end of the week. Pics will happen then. Along with pics of the new and improved d30 pics for anyone thats interested...Yeah i know...can't run 36's on d30..Was told the same thing on the axles of my cj(304v8) and aint broke yet..NOT a rock crawler but NOT a mall crawler either.
  9. Ok..I was going with the heim j for crossover steering but have since thought about the JJ..What i want to do is drill out the steering knucks to 5/8 and set the JJ on top side..Anybody had experience w/ JJ? What i need is 7/8 stud threads(screw into the 1 1/2 dom tube) with a 5/8 hole thru the joint to bolt to the knuckles..In addition i am needing a tre piece for the pitman arm that has a 7/8 stud to also screw into 1 1/2 dom tube. Where can i find this? Currie doesnt show this on website but i plan on contacting them tommorow. Yes i am building a Frankenstien front end before i get all the  comments.
  10. Oh there aint no way this will be going rock crawling..It is too high for that. Just gonna be a play toy and weekend mudslinger. She should be close to ready to test drive by this time next week. I actually think with the things i have done it will be more stable than a lot of these out there with just 4-5 inches of lift..We'll see in a week or so.
  11. I'll take 2 of em :brows: Good lookin bumper.
  12. No..NO..Custom (other words me) long arm kit. Ford 8.8 rear w/locker 4.10 gears..Front use to be a d30...but it aint no regular d30 no more. Lots of hours have been spent on the front of this beast. I hope to get some good pics this weekend.
  13. Thankya Pete ;) Gulches trip would be cool.
  14. well it had 8" to start with..tires rubbed in the driveway..so i added ACOS and now i shouldnt have to cut fenders(what i was after)..Plus I may decide down the road to cut and put bushwacker flares on and slap on some 42's or 44's...who knows
  15. 36" TSL's...pull it out this weekend and i will get some pics then..I just realized I'm a Moron and posted this in the wrong section.
  16. tie rod, drag link, panhard bar, rear trac bars and she will be ready for some body work and a nice new paint job.
  17. 15x10 with 36x12.50 TSL swampers
  18. Ok i posted a wanted add for the ba10 earlier but after some thought i guess i might go ahead and do the conversion if i can find one..I am going to need AX-15 and np231....Right?? If i go this route what am I to expect to run into in swappin from the ba10 2wd?? If it needs a new tranny I figure I may as well only do it once and convert her over to 4wd.
  19. I am going with 1.5" .25 dom for my tie rod but it sure does look like the bigger tie rod ends are going to hit the tires..3 5/8 bs on my wheels. I will post some pics of the ongoing project this weekend. Biggest PITA so far was removing the knuckles and rotating.
  20. has anybody tried going with bigger TRE's than stock on a d30 hp? I was thinking of going with bigger but not sure if there is room..3 5/8 bs on my wheels. Sure looks like it would be tight.
  21. Ok. I have them set at 7 so i ought to be good. I am a heck of a lot closer than i was before.
  22. Ok. I have now gotten my knuckles off and sleeved my d30. I have the knuckles back on and ready to set. Setting my pinion angle at 21 degrees as i have 12" of lift. I need to know what the MJ has the recomended caster cambers set at. I will post pics of the finished product in a week or 2 which will be a MJ with 12-13"s of lift with 36's. Before everybody tells me ya can't run 36's on a d30 i was told the same thing with my cj5 and the amc20 that has a 304 motor. I am still running the same axle on the cj 30yrs later that i got from my dad and it aint a cream puff..Never broke an axle.
  23. 8.8 w/ 4.10 and disc for 70$....Not here in georgia....Heck it took me a month to find the d30 front w/ 4.10's and it cost me 350 bones...I will take one of those 8.8 rears if anybody got one..
  24. let me revoke that last post..now that i have had a shower and a cup of joe  By sliding the piece over manually it is simply creating the link in the 2pc shaft right? 4x4 is still eng/diseng by the transfer case..What about pulling the guts out of the vac disco and installing a shaft out of a stanard d30 non disco...Will that work too. Just seems that the connection point of the 2 shafts is going to be a weak point.
  25. looks easy enough but isnt this going to make it full time 4wheel drive..Of course if it does and i didnt want it i could put locking hubs on right..Problem is this is gonna be on the road as much as it is the trails...Thanks for those pics by the way...Awesome.
