  1. Here's a rough estimate of what I put into mine: Axle: $200 Spring Perches: $15 Shock Mounts: $20 U bolts: $40 Pinion flange adaptor: $25 Pinion flange bolts: $7 Driveshoft shortened: $50 Brakelines: $50 Rotors turned: $20 Brake Pads: $25 I probably forgot a couple of little things too. I was able to reuse the calipers and rotors that came with the axle and I made my own u-bolt plates. Otherwise those will add to the cost.

 $89.95 (less shifter) plus $20 core at my local pick-n-pull :D Jeff I paid $69 with no core and it included the shifter, mount, and CPS at my local UPull. :D
  3. Twin City Off Road and H.T.R. 4x4 Club are proud to announce the second annual Crawl 4 the Cure, a fund raiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Last year we raised over $21,000 and this year we're shooting for $50,000. The event is held at the Iron Range Off Highway Vehicle Recreation Area in Gilbert, MN July 1-3, 2006. The IROHVRA has hosted Jeep Jamborees, Peterson's Ultimate Adventure, and is featured in issue 2 of Crawl magazine. There's terrain for everyone from stockers to rock buggies with everything in between. For more information, check out www.crawl4cure.org
  4. I've got Rusty's AAL in the rear of my MJ and I've been very happy with it. I don't have any personal experience with their packs, but I know a guy with a Scrambler with Rusty's springs all the way around. He said the bushings suck, but that thing flexes like mad! I don't need new packs right now, but I'd definitely give them a try in the future.
  5. Like I said before, I've already got a non-disco D30 plus I'm running ABS shafts with the 297 joints. I'm really not too worried about breaking anything with my 33's.
  6. I'm thinking about putting a front lunchbox locker in my MJ. I'd like to hear from anyobdy who has one about how you like it and how it handles on the trail. My main concern is if I'll be able to steer while in 4low. I don't want to have to shift into 2 HI every time I want to make a turn. I already have enough trouble with tight turns with all the extra wheelbase and length that we've got over a SWB Jeep. I've got a five speed and a non-disco D30, if that changes you thoughts.
  7. You mean this one? That's mine about 4 years ago. It used to be a pretty truck.
  8. I'm not sure. I've heard that they were a factory option but I haven't been able to confirm it. They were on it when I bought it. I guess they're pretty hard to find now if you wanted one.
  9. It's a Lund Fastback. It matches my Lund visor!
  10. Yeah, that was a pretty cool rig. Different than what I'm used to whelling with. On the Same hill that I bashed my truck on, he hit his driver's door hard enough to break the rolled down window! We knew it was slick when he couldn't get traction with his 40" Boggers.
  11. One of the guys in my club has 20 acres of tight wooded trails. We went out Saturday for a day full of winching and body damage. After the couple of inches of snow we got last week melted, it left a greasy, slimey mess. Normally a hill like this isn't much of a problem, but there was just no traction. The low point of the day was when I was the first to try a new, twisty hill climb. I ended up with the back driver's side of my cab against a tree with nowhere to go but up. The results:  Some more pictures are here: http://www.twincityoffroad.com/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=November-19%2C-2005
  12. Hey, that's me! Here's a couple pics from this weekend
  13. The St. Croix Co Fair was held this weekend in my home town of Glenwood City, WI. Saturday night they had a Central Mudracing Association sanctioned 4x4 mud race. I've wanted to participate in this event since I was a kid and this year my Comanche was in one piece and I've got some halfway decent mud tires on it so I decided to try it. I raced in the showroom stock class, in which the only mods allowed are 33" tires and a lift. To my surprise, I ran the length of the pit! I learned that my truck is definitely more of a crawler than a racer with the longest time of anyone to make it through the pit all night. 180 feet in just over 30 seconds! However, I did beat several trucks that didn't make it through. A shot of some of the participants: I got bogged down about halfway through but was able to keep it moving and found a better line further to the right. I really want that M715. I finally got stuck for good after I had just barely crossed the finish line. Here's the winner of the class. She was right after me so I missed the run but I guess she just blew straight through. The anouncer was a big Jeep fan and kept saying what a cool little truck I had. It was a lot of fun even if I didn't win.
  14. Here's a pic of mine from earlier this summer. I've trimmed the front a little more and added 33's since then. I'll be lifting the rear another inch or so this weekend. I've got a couple of wheeling trips coming up so I'll have some updated pics in a couple of weeks.
