  1. would like to know if there are any pic's of the shift lever assembly i know that the 94XJ had a plate that was held in place by two nuts  that held the xfer case and i have look at the great job that pete has improvised with  and may have to go with some thing like that but if any photo of whats is really connected it would be greatly appreciated. I just want as much of a stock look as possible thanks btw that was the part that was left behind
  2. the ba-10 came with the 87-89 4.0l which had a 21 spline and the ax-15 had 23 spline the 2.5l(4) & 2.8l(6) shared the ax-5 since the had bout the same pwr rating
  3. its sure does and it hits the underside some I'm in the process of swapping it out again with a cherokee with an external setup!
  4. have you check the fluid level in the reservoir that would be the firts think i would check first if it is dry you may have a leak. check for signs of a leak either by the tranny B/H o some where along the line. Then determine how many miles since the last replacement clutch. If not driven hard the should last a good long while i had one last 125k with the puke joe. then i have replace it with an ax-15. which is better since i have stroked my engine.
  5. I'd went with the AP stroker and not complained one bit if i had to do it again i would. the injectors are something of interest what i have came from a zj5.9l as for the chevy thing it would be costly with lots of changes  when its really not needed. the power /torque is very good in my engine. I have a 4.6l and when the budget is right i'll get some air  vice the stock hight. if you got a steal like on the 4.7l i might try that other wise stroker is the way i would go and do it again
  6. i would look into the pick and pull for a 3.4l here in the beach area  but if your heart is set on the 4.0 good luck  this could be a major under taking :headpop:
  7. sorry folks let me mention that i have replaced the internal 2x already and lost the flared roll pin in its place i would be the bolt vice the roll pin
  8. As you folks already know i was and still looking for ax-15 external slave bellhousing setup from the local bone yards and a very hard fine so far and no luck some on the net but the price is very high. just wondering  if i would tap and bolt the internal slave in place and apply some loctite would this work. until i replace this with an external setup. any suggestion would be greatly unless one of you folks happen to have one your back pocket :D
  9. its kinda pricey but you may want to try this web site let me us if this works 4 ya  www.thejeep.net/catalog/product_info.ph ... e7558edf26
  10. this may work for you  we repaired a similar problem with an xj 88 and we replaced the CPS over the tranny with a bone yard donor and got his xj running with no problem vice paying someone to trouble shoot and not even gaining any ground. not saying that this is the cluprit but worth a try.
  11. which more the reason to go with the external slave clinder the problem is that the bone yards around the tidewater area don't have any :headpop: so the next place is the internet but you have to make sure that every thing is included so u go a place to start.
  12. well folks here is mj its an 89 4x4 which I'm the only owner of this great beast so far it has been modified just a little the eng is a AP stroker 4.6l and ax-15 vice the ba/10 (pushjo) which I'm still working on, next is to get a mild lift and keep it mild for a while longer but since i m on a budget some things will wait and remain status quo
  13. my next question would be why would the retainer & flared roll pin come off(2X) on a remanufactured tranny would there be a difference if the tranny is from an MJ/XJ/TJ any  would be greatly appreciated
  14. WOW Pete outstanding work there, I guess that your tranny is of a 99TJ correct me if i'm wrong got this base on your slave cylinder mod. when on budget one must improvise and certainly you have exceeded in that dept hands down. would like to make some additional chnages myself. I'll provide photo's of my MJ here shortly. again thanks
  15. Well folks here is the scoop got an ax-15 which i believe its from a wrangler vice comanche/cherokee due to the fact that it is right up to the underside of the MJ. my question is since this a an ax-15 what would it take to go from internal to external (slave cyl)most of the info i got so far is to go with external I would like to know what years would be the least amount of pain. right now i'm looking for the correct bell housing and can not find it locally here in the tidewater area. any help would be greatly appreciated btw second retainer in the internal slave popped out. thanks for your support
