  1. ok so here's what i did i had no clamp to bench bleed the MC so i just bolted the MC to the booster and connected rubber tubes to back feed the fluid back into the mc i did that until the air bubbles stopped took about 30 minutes then i removed the rubber tubes and reconnected the metal brake fluid lines with a flare wrench and reconnect the vacuum tube hose to the booster then i pumped the brakes like 20 times fully started the vehicle and tested them out when i press them i get a medium amount of resistance but i can push it all the way down to the floor board it seems like there is not enough hydraulic pressure to move the brake pads
  2. ok so i put on the new brake parts and i happy that i go the stupid leak to stop but now when i drive the truck up and down the road it won't stop the vehicle i have to pull the parking break to get the vehicle to stop can anyone tell me what i did wrong ?
  3. i have the electrical manual for the 86 comanche and i hate the way they wired it there are to many safeties and reroutes on it i have wired motor cycles before and have had very little problems this is just a bigger project i know i can do it its just going to take more time thats all i have looked threw the whole manual and i know where the wires start and go i am simply going to rewire it but do it the way i want it done not the way they have designed it also i have to put in a whole bunch of new buttons in the dash so I'm going to be in there anyways why not just redo it all, deal with the problems once so i don't have to deal with the problems later i know it will take me anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks to wire the truck, i am fine with that
  4. i have no choice you guys have you seen the pics of my vehicle after i put a new battery in it about 80 percent of the electronics on the truck don't work at all even my combination switch does a full 360 and ends up just moving the wiper blades thats about as much as i can get out of it and besides my neighbor builds hot rods for a living ive seen him build cars and wire them up from scratch he tells me its easy if you go by the 3 wire system (positive / negative / ground) ive looked at many of his projects and i agree for someone of my back-round it does look pretty easy
  5. Double Oh Four has a good point
  6. wow isnt that going to really slow down the vehicle at high speeds as far as wind resistance goes
  7. so you guys are saying that it should be option 2 ok thanks i put it on there like that after i pumped all the air out of the lines and the M.C.
  8. option 2 is how it came in the box but option one is how my old one was that i took off the vehicle
  9. i need it to keep the sun out of my eyes wait does that thing go on the inside or the outside of the vehicle ?
  10. ok thanks will do
  11. ok so my engine is a 3.4 L32 The MJ in 86 came with a 2.8 LR2 both of these engines are the same the only difference is the 3.4 is just bigger so i got the cable bracket off of a 2.8 Xj because i had no bracket i inserted the gas cable and it hooked up and works no problem this is the right hole on the bracket now on the left side of the bracket my tranny cable will not fit in the insert because the cable is bigger then the hole in the bracket so thats why i wanted to see if some one could take a pic of theres so i can see how it looks on a 2.8 MJ then i will simply modify mine to look like theres or possible get a XJ tranny cable
  12. thanks bobby they basically used a bondo filler to fill in the cracks that they drilled out then sanded it all down after filling it and repainted it i think i will go ahead and do that since I'm going to have to take out the whole dash anyways to rewire the vehicle
  13. i was wondering if anybody knew what side the rubber part in the M.C. should be facing Option 1: Does it go this way ? Option 2: Or does it go this way ?
  14. could you post a link to some polishing compound that would work well
  15. from what i see it looks like the center console is original and some one cut out the back container part then some how some way the chairs go switched out with XJ ones the reason why i think the chairs were switched out is because they are just screwed to the floor not bolted down like they should be man i feel so bad for this truck she's been abused a lot :( i will take any center console you got because i can just repaint it but to ship something that big internationally is gonna cost like over 100 bucks thats kind of pricey
  16. kool thanks man maybe i will try your method out
  17. how funny i bought mine for 900 bucks too lol
  18. i just get a tint visor on the top of my windshield it works great
  19. do you know how big the short bed was ?
  20. Your right Eagle if i have any parts left over that i don't want like a smog canister lol i will post a pic on here and see if anybody else wants them finding a second Comanche piece will be difficult and i believe the XLS piece will look good in the back of the truck on the tailgate since i only have one
  21. i agree it would be a good future investment but maybe i can get fiberglass and glue on a cup holder or something to make the back half not look so bad you never know i might get lucky
  22. i will take a pic of the difference tomorrow and show you what my problem is maybe then you can see what I'm trying to say or offer a good alternative solution
  23. aww ok i have a 7 foot bed which i believe is a long bed so does he have a short bed say around 6 feet ?
