  1. Just curious why you'd want CV's instead of u-joints?
  2. http://m.homedepot.com/p/Oatey-H-20-5-Water-Soluble-Paste-Flux-Kit-with-Safe-Flo-Solder-506912/202515582 Biggest issue is getting it clean. I used a stainless steel wire brush, then heated and applied flux, then wire brush again. I hit it several times. Once I was satisfied with how clean it was, more flux and sweated the solder in.
  3. New tank, fuel pump, roll over valve grommets, and all fuel lines, repaired sending unit. Ready to bolt it back in so my truck can resume daily driver status.
  4. I dropped the tank on my '89 MJ this morning to swap in a new tank. Found the soldered joints where the lines pass through the plate broken loose. Knowing the part isn't available, I decided to repair mine. It turned out pretty good. A propane torch, solder, flux, and a couple of stainless steel brushes were all that was needed.
  5. I recently put one from O'Reilly's on my '97 ZJ. I bought the cheaper one. Sure made a big difference.
  6. Thanks for the quick replies. I'll drain the tank and drop it out so I can rinse it out good.
  7. I recently bought a fairly clean '89 MJ, 4.0, 5 speed. It's been running great, until this weekend. To start out... Fuel gauge was not working when I bought the truck, fuel pump was noisy. I replaced the pump with one from O'Reilly's (Slight modification to bracket to make it fit properly). Also repaired a bad wire and got the gauge working. I ran about 13 gallons out of the tank. The last few miles, it was cutting out and really down on power, but made it home. Replaced the inline fuel filter. In doing so, I had some nasty fuel poor out of the old filter. Red and rusty looking. Also replaced the spark plugs. Still not running right. Could the bad fuel have cause issues with a sensor, or do I need to pull the injectors and clean (or upgrade) them? Thanks
