  3. Great looking MJ. Great job!
  4. It could be, but I also noticed the other day when I was driving in the raid that there was water leaking on the inside of my front wind shield. When I get the door fixed I'll do the whole thing with the water hose test. Thanks,
  5. Thank you very much this is a big help. I'm pretty sure that I know the old owners of the truck I have a copy of the original title, and I'm the one that lives on Tinker AFB. Thank you again for the information, I'll be printing this out and putting in my papers. Heck yes :typing: :typing: Hey can you do this cool information look up for my MK also??? here's my VIN is you can, 8D703775. 6. Great job! That's some nice work. I want your old wood grain interior piece, lol. :brows: :brows: :brows:
  7. Thanks for the info~~ Here's the finished shifter knob Here's the door damage. I hope it's a bolt in job If you're wondering; Yes, it is raining.
  8. I've read about it and decided what I wanted to do, but as far as hands on doing it I am clueless. But I knew that, lol, and I'm planing on learning a lot. ;) ;) ;) ;)
  9. Addressing an issue. The drivers side door was badly hyper extended. So I'm attempting to replace it and the fender. I went to a junk yard and this is what I pulled off a 95 XJ. Fender and door. Sorry I don't have more pictures, it's limited to what I have on my phone right now. Don't worry though, I'll soon have more pictures than there is tea in China. I also began to craft me up a wooden shifter knob. The selection for shifter knobs with the right thread is very limited so I used the threads from the stock one. When it drys I'll post a pic of it in my truck.

  11. Hi, I'll start by introducing myself. My names Casey and I'm working on restoring and building my 92 MJ (best looking truck ever) to be my daily driving well capable off road crazy magic machine. I have no experience at all, when it comes to working on cars. Everything I've done with this truck so far has been my first. So I'll be asking a lot of yall crazy smart people. :headpop: :headpop: :headpop: :headpop: Sooooo, my wife left this morning for training then she goes to Afghanistan, and I'll have 13 months to make this truck "drivable" words of my wife, it means: (no spiders that are some how in the truck cause it's old). Although, I plan on doing much more than just that.    Anyway, here's this show. The day we brought it home It's a: 2WD, 5-speed, 4.0L, birthdate was Sept 26 1991, came stock with a black grille(doesn't look black to me), 138,000 miles, it's pretty much stock I really doubt the old owners have done anything to it. It needs a lot of work, it's been sitting for years, even the paint has faded and bleached from the sun. At my apartment, see faded paint Rear end, I believe it's a Dana 35 It will have to go. I'm on the look out for a 79/78 F250 Donor for axles and if possible a transmission Here's two cats kissing. Aww so cute!! More of the rear end. Check it out, never been touched The first thing I did was start on the interior. I took out all but the front part, where the cluster is. I was happy with the rust I found in the floor. I've got a few things to fix in here. Under the carpets. I plan on put a bed liner in the whole inside and making drain hole for the water. I don't know why, but it hasn't rained in a while and there's water puddled up under the carpet. Next I had to learn how to do routine maintenance. The vavle cover was leaking oil real bad, it had a nice thick coat of grease on it that took me hours to scrub off with dish soap and steel wool. I ended up doing the gasket, the spark plugs, cap and wires. Cleaned Valve cover Painting it Finished and in my engine Thanks for reading. I'll be doing a whole lot more. Wish me luck.
  12. papa oh mow mow
  13. Crafted a wooden shifter knob :clapping:

  15. nothing... I'm so sad now :(:(:(:(
  16. Here's the last 9 of my VIN, (NL142235), and my MR date is Sept 91. :chillin: :chillin: I know some specifics because I read on the forum that you could email chrysler and find out some specifics, and I did that. I got a pretty good make up of what the truck came stock with, it was wrong with one thing though. :clapping: :clapping:
  17. Yeah I am seeing it clearly now. A lot of headache and money and stress that is not worth it. Yeah it would be cool, but I am seeing how hard it would be. I'll have 13 months to get the truck where I want it and the Diesel engine is seeming impossible, well at least for me and for the time I'll have. I leaning more to building one frame up, in a couple of years. I would still like to see the Diesel engine builds, they would be cool to check out. Guess for this build I'll go the practicle route, seeing it's my first build and this is a brand new hobbie for me. I dream big and I will build one in a heart beat, if I only had the resources.       I'll post up my VIN and MR Date tomorrow, I'm hitting the hay tonight. GNight Thanks again all
  18. Well, I'm setting out my plan on paper then I will aquire the parts and begin building. Engine, Tranny, Axles, Tires. :rotfl2: I need a good choice for a turbo diesel engine swap. I was thinking the inline 6s from the old dodges. I'm going to make my build a little bigger than most, with higher torque and bigger tires. Budget is normal to low, I'm only barely insane. I'll be basing the tranny on the engine and so on. I have hardly any experience so please leave me a lot of reading material, thanks. :rotfl2: What do yall think about DIESEL ENGINE DONORS??? :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:
  19. In a few years I plan on doing an engine swap to a newer diesel engine. like the 3.0L CRD. Wheeling wise I want to be more crawling than mudding, and it needs to be a daily drive and well capable off road. going to be in woods a lot. Size of tire will be 37 probably, in a couple years I'll prolly go 40s when I get a D60 front end and the diesel engine. I'll need to go ahead and make my lift high enough for it all now. And I seen some people cut their fenders, I have some to practice on, but I might not do that untill I get the D60 front end. If I don't need to cut them I probably won't BTW, whats AAL? and it looks like i'll be fabing myself some anti-wrap bars, lol. :clapping: thanks for all your help, and everyones help
  20. The "NP435" is the transmission likely to be in the F250? So you recomend just the axles, and forget about the leaf springs, and when it comes to the steering I would be getting just whats hooked up to the axle, not the steering box, but I would need the rods that go to it? So just to clarifly things here's a listing of what I think I'm getting Front Axle (with the steering parts, not steering box) Rear Axle Transmission if its "NP435" Oh and pete. So I won't need the leaf springs from the rear? Wouldn't I need stronger leaf springs to run a higher torque? :huh???:
  21. I found a local guy parting out an 1978 F250. Can yall post me some pricing info on the drivetrain parts. Like, the rear axle Dana60, front axle Dana44.   I have a 2WD Comanche which I want to convert to 4WD, what other parts would I need? please post a price with the part. I want a strong drivetrain that could withstand high tourqe. Also do I need the stering box and fron leaf springs with the front axle? Thank you all
  22. so in the "drivetrain", means pretty much anything past the fly wheel? So that means the axles are encluded. I really would want to base my drivetrain on the D60s I'm getting, to with stand high tourqe. Soooooooo, what do you exactly mean, what drivetrain I go with? because I know what I'm shooting for, proformance wise, but I don't know exactly where to get the parts, and I don't know why I can't just use all the parts from the F250?
  23. I've found a local guy parting out a 78 F250, I want to say I need the Axles the drive shafts and the transfer case. Right? anything else I'll need?
