WiscoXJ replied to WiscoXJ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I'm working on it! Full-time student and worker so its hard to find time. After I saw it I did a lot of reading because I didn't want it too suck, but it looks to have good reviews! I guess we'll see -

Busted @$$ last night. Pulled the entire driveline in an hour and a half lol Pulled the exhaust manifold.. my old one was hardly attached lol guess that was my exhaust leak lol I'm going to transfer fuel lines and stuff while the engines out. My tcase is pissing fluid out the output seal so I may as well fix that too. Need to get an o2 sensor as well. Here are the connectors I need to adapt to the mJ column These are what the MJ ones look like Ordered a xj service manual so hopefully that does the trick -

You can try this.. may not work, ive rear some stuff about it only working for 91 and up obdI http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/jeep-computer-codes-obdi-obdii-3341/ I was thinking it was kinda a map sounding problem too so here's this http://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/jeep/4.0L/how-to-test-the-map-sensor-1 Coolant temp sensor is a pretty easy test. Just find out the warm and cold values for it and bust out the multimeter. One other thing I was thinking of was my buddy has an old golf and it was kinda doing what yours was and it turned out to be an o2 sensor ground so you can check that too. ground wires will get you everytime. Happy hunting :wrench:

Have you tried to get it to flash codes at you at all? does it seem weather related when it dies or is it completely random?

Finally got a some time to work on it. Front end is mostly back together with the d30 in it now. Have to do some more wiring to adapt the column shifter column so the ho harness. And hopefully what it'll look like when its done -
Another HO harness swap question..

Ill have to take a second look. I know the turn signal and the High beam switch are different for sure -
As some of you know I'm swapping a full HO setup out of a 94 into my mj. I have column shift and plan to keep it. the problem I'm having is that column and the HO harness obviously aren't the same. just looking for info from someone that has done this or maybe a FSM for an HO XJ so I can do the pinouts and rewire it all. Thanks!

I don't know why I haven't looked at this thread before but quality work man  -
I haven't checked in here in awhile. you've been busy and the MJ has attempted to be the opposite lol
-
WOW . :MJ 2: .

 good deal. I though about just running a bar back to the frame and incorporating a tank skid with it on the drivers side, but then I just have a bar hanging out there on the passenger side that will get hung up on everything

They are holding very well ! I tried to cram them into everything I could including stuffing it against a 10" steel pipe sticking up and pivoting around it , I still don't have any supports beyond the cab portion but I haven't seen any problems as of yet . Once I add the extra slider I will be tying it into the exo cage as they will be done at the same time . The rear section under the bed isn't being supported by anything!? I thought for sure you ran some tube back to the frame lol that's sweet its holding up with just being tied into the cab though

A Comanche Build.. The story of a dead XJ..
WiscoXJ replied to WiscoXJ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Did a little wiring tonight. Finished one part of the HO dash to renix rear harness but then ran out of butane.. I currently lack the motivation to go down stairs to get more so I'm done for tonight Also I decided today I'm going with 35" tires instead of 33's. The Mj was a 2wd 2.5 so it has 4.56's which will work for the 35's. So if anyone has a 4.56 gear set for a d30 pm me.
