  1. Like I said before.. buy the front end componants from skyjacker and build a rear pack.
  2. I have skyjacker 3" coils in the front and I made my own bastard pack in the rear. I needed 2" in the rear to level it out.

    Oil Change

This is by far the funniest thing Ive heard in awhile! I'm on break from replacing my clutch so back down to the garage I go!
  4. 2.5 hours.. I guess I can be thankful that there are so many XJs around me.
  5. I buy and sell Jeeps and other cars often. I wouldn't even think about that thing being a daily driver for any amount of time. To me it looks like a few 16yo kids built it in their backyard with scrap pieces. IMHO its a great parts truck or donor if you can pick it up for 600-800.
  6. Advance auto parts and autozone both sell a Chevy lowering shackle kit in their store for $40. These shackles will give you 3/4"-1" of lift depending on the condition of your leaves.
  7. I think you found your problem! I will be replacing my clutch as soon as it arrives in the mail.
  8. Ok sounds good. Is the clutch release bearing something that can replaced separately from the clutch, or do I have to replace the entire clutch? Are you talking about the slave cylinder or is the release bearing something different?
  9. I have the crappy ba10 and it just started making a metal grinding sound when the clutch is depressed and in gear. The trans is fine and I am NOT upgrading to the ax15. With that aside I will be installing a new clutch kit with bearings and slave. Do I need to replace the flywheel or not? I did the clutch less than 2 years ago and the flywheel was new then.
  10. Yep sounds like they are 4.5" springs, Thanks.
  11. I picked up some coils from the pick n pull today off a 99 XJ. They measure 22" long and are black. Would these most likely be 5.5" lift springs? The XJ was sitting pretty high.
  12. I think 4k for that Mj is more than fair. Think about it, if you buy a $500 MJ your going to end up having thousands in it before it looks like that one. Not to mention the countless hours and aggravation! Add up the total cost of parts plus your time.. I would rather spend 4k for something already MINT.
  13. 87 Mustang GT tonight! Now its time to creep around CL for another XJ or possibly another MJ! :peek: WTH was I thinking getting a stang in the first place!?
  14. I have seen a lot of Jeep lug nuts loosen by themselves. I have no idea what causes it but thats why I put a little extra torque on my wheels. Seems like this is the same problem with yours seeing as how the lugs are missing and nothing is visably broken.
  15. 5 1/2" eye to eye on the MJ. Chevy drop shackles measure 6.5 or 7.5" eye to eye. But the MJ axle isn't centered on the leaves like a XJ so using the 7.5" hole only gives the MJ 3/4" lift max.
  16. Did you really text him? I wasn't sure if his cell phone would be "on" :rotfl2: It looks like it was a really clean truck before he ruined it too!
  17. Wow that must have been scary! Glad your ok. What parts broke that caused the wheel to come off?
  18. So the DW went away after fixing the LCA bushing. I still have a little shimmy but that has always been there even at stock height. I also centered the axle yesterday and my TB was about an 1/8" off from lining up with the axle mount. So I don't see why a longer TB is needed unless I plan on off roading.

  20. Well I took the LCA out and pounded the bushing back in with a 3 pound sledge. I then installed it backwards from the way it was so if it decides to slide again it can't.
  21. I measured my axle and it is only 1/8" off center.. Not a big deal in my book. I did however hit a curb today in the snow and threw my alignment off so here it goes.. more problems! I am going to be selling this truck very soon as I need something more reliable. So if anyone is looking for a decent truck with LOTS of money invested and a rebuilt 4.0..lmk! :D
  22. Do you even think a longer TB would be needed? My axle doesn't even look to be off center, I will confirm what it really is with measurements though. What I mean is my XJ axle was 1" shifted and was VERY visible but drove perfectly even at 70mph hitting highway bumps. I won't argue the LCA length issue seeing as how its most likely going to start a debate. But I have seen many people use stockers at 3" without problems other than a little rougher ride. Also this is strictly a pavement truck. I might have to just go back to 2" up front and be done with it seeing as how I need the truck in highway shape for Sunday. Anyone need 3" coils?? :rotf:
  23. I have stock arms and 3" coils thought the stockers were ok until 3"? My axle isn't perfectly centered but its pretty close. I will measure it tomorrow. My XJ with 4" or so lift had a bad TB and the axle was 1" further to the drivers side and it drove perfect. :dunno: Ball joints and tires are fine. Looks like I need to relocate my TB axle mount over 3/4" then. I just don't understand how the bushings walk over like that with only 3" when it NEVER happened in any of my XJs.
  24. The only thing that has changed is I removed stock coils and a 2" spacer and installed 3" skyjacker coils. So the front end is sitting 1 inch higher than before. I adjusted the toe in to 1/16" closer in the front. I torqued everything down correctly, I've had the front end apart a million times so I'm pretty good at it. :wrench: This is when I noticed my LCAs.
  25. Pretty much everything pete! Steering gear box, track bar, all u joints, both wheel unit bearings, drag link, all the TREs, steering damper, sway bar links, and the LCAs. The only thing that hasn't been replaced is the UCAs. This truck has 11k invested in it no joke! The toe alignment is spot on also and the tires are balanced. Is that ok for my new LCA bushings to look like that? The axle side driver in the pic and the frame side passenger looks the same, bushing sliding out.
