  1. it's a community parking lot. It's private, but not mine.
  2. I went ahead and moved the jeep, I figure maybe I need them to know it's not abandoned or dead. After that, if it keeps happening, I'll chat with the parents. I'm not a confrontational dude, I'm pretty chill, so I don't imagine a conversation with the parents would go badly. Funny side note, I guess my other neighbor who is an MD state trooper noticed. He parked his cruiser where the jeep used to sit. HA! Maybe that'll send a message!
  3. I wonder if there's a screw you missed, maybe something isn't tight? i assume the seam you're talking about is the plastic shroud around the column its self?
  4. I was just thinking about how to treat my floors. Is this different from bed liner? I was wondering if I could find something rubberized so it would dampen sound.
  5. It's a pretty distinctive print, another pic shows a clear "2.0" printed in a circle on the heel. Even if mom denies it, she's going to go look at his shoes and give him hell for it.
  6. The handle it's self separates it? What does separates mean? Like when you put it in park, your steering wheel spins freely?
  7. Pic because it happened:
  8. Thanks for the advice guys. If this was on the SRT forums, they would be all about threats, alarms, cops and guns. Y'all are reasonable adults. I appreciate that. I'll try moving it, if that doesn't work, I'll go chat with the parents.
  9. I considered a note. I figured anything I tape to the truck with a warning will inevitably end in an implied "Please vandalize this vehicle at your earliest convenience."
  10. Was considering that too. The jeep is sitting in a fairly secluded spot. I chose the spot to keep it out of the way so I don't bother the neighbors. I guess it wasn't the best choice, so I'll park it where it's in plain sight and hope the kids aren't that bold.
  11. This is my hope, one time, that was fun, move on. I was a kid once, I remember.
  12. I figured I'm going to take the nice approach, like both of you have said. I'll mention it to the kids and hope it stops. If not, it's the parents. After two strikes, I'll need to begin the paper trail with the police so I have a defense if they try to sue me when little billy breaks his ankle.
  13. I considered that, the "cool neighbor" approach. I'm afraid tho that talking to someone's kids leads to the "creepy neighbor" label. Again, I'm afraid of other people's kids, everyone is hyper sensitive these days.
  14. yeah I definitely plan to put the bolt in from the rear, someone wasn't thinking ahead last time these mounts were replaced. The alternator doesn't look to be horrible to remove, it's the 2.5L.... so it's not exactly taking up a lot of room. thanks for the input!
  15. So yesterday, I found shoe prints on the hood and roof of the Comanche. Pretty sure it's the 10-12 year old boys that I see playing around the neighborhood all the time. My initial reaction was to say "meh", it's a beat up 30 year old truck. But it's got a gas can in the bed, a wheel chock (bad e-brake cable) and the doors don't lock too well (yeah, it's beat) I'm nervous these kids are going to hurt themselves or cause damage. If they hurt themselves, guess who gets sued?? I'm a bit... nervous about saying anything to someone's kid, last i checked, that's how you get arrested these days. I'm also nervous about approaching his mom, as I don't want to be accused of being intimidating or mean. Back when I was a kid (not long ago) I'd get yelled at by the owner, run off, and never do it again. Nowadays, i would go tell my mommy, mommy could call the cops, and then I'd vandalize the jeep. So... what would the comanche club do? 1: I'm thinking of just parking it somewhere else. Maybe they think it's abandoned because it's always parked in the same spot and maybe they just aren't usually home when I drive it. 2: No retaliation, threats, booby traps, or anything like this. I'm an adult, and I have to live with these people. Thanks guys.
  16. So the mounts on my 2.5 are shot. The driver's side looks easy to get to. The pass side does too, but it looks like the bolt comes out towards the front of the truck. About 1" behind this bolt is the alternator. am I missing something? Any way I can get this bolt out without having to remove the alt?
  17. Maybe you should have used loc-tite? Not sure if those particular bolts require it or not. I assume the vibration of use made them back out. What about torque specs? were they torqued properly?
  18. Awesome, thanks bud! I owe you a beer!
  19. Edit: Found this: http://comancheclub.com/topic/45765-ax-5-external-clutch-slave-replacment-made-easy/?hl=external+clutch looks to be on the pass side, I guess i was wrong about which side it's supposed to be on. Nevermind! ha!
  20. hey man, thanks for the write up! I'm going to take your advice. Where did you disconnect the line to remove it? I see you took the slave out with a bunch of line. did you disconnect it from the master? or one of the joints in the middle?
  21. Pics of the trans for reference:
  22. Is my trans possibly the BA-10/5? If the slave is external, I want to replace it. I'm just confused, as it's on the wrong side....
  23. Update: Kinda..... ok so I finally had a warm enough day to crawl under the MJ and not be laying on ice and snow. The clutch line goes from the driver's side, over the top, and into an external slave cylinder on the PASS side of the jeep. what the heck? is this not an AX5? Driver's side: Pass side: in this pic, you can see, at the end of the cylinder, the little silver nub is the bleeder, it's on top, above the bleeder is where the clutch line runs. You can see it's soaked in fluid, so i assume it's the bad part. So what transmission do i have? i assume I need to know that before I go buying a new slave! ha!
  24. I am an electronic medical records specialist. I pretty much teach doctors how to use computers. It's a job, i do it to pay for my car habit. I worked construction for 5 years and in a custom auto shop for 2. Decided a desk job would pay the bills without burning me out on my hobby.
  25. I've never heard it pronounced that way. I've been in the jeep world for as long as I can remember. You, sir, are rocking my jeep knowledge to the core......
