  1. I don't where to begin. Taillights won't come on when the headlight switch is activated and the left side turn signal, brake, and hazards don't work as well. What is the issue? I hate wiring so please make it as easy as possible to understand. Thanks
  2. Yes the parking lamps and side markers work.
  3. Okay guys, my headlights won't turn on, but my dash lights will and the dimmer is fully functional. The high beams don't work, but the indicator light is activated, if that makes sense. I ask because I haven't seen a solution to my certain problem. I already have replaced my headlamp switch. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

1988 Jeep Comanche Pioneer "Redscare" 4.0L Renix/ AW4 Automatic/ NP 231 Command Trac/ CAD Disconnect HP Dana 30/ Dana 35 non c-clip/ 119" wheelbase Build date: Unknown (scrapped before I looked) Bought: April 21st, 2015 Current Location: Waterloo,IA Status: Scrapped on August 6th, 2015 Notes: This Jeep was the long wheel base model, so it had the 7ft box. I thought that was pretty cool since my other comanche, which I still have, is a swb, so having the long wheel base and bigger truck box was cool. In my opinion, it rode better plus I liked the 23.5 gallon tank. It's like the long wheel base MJ's were the better ones I think. It had a factory front skid and tcase skid plate. Unfortunately no fuel tank skid. Luckily, I took them off to put on my other MJ. Also had the more heavy duty rear bumper which I thought every comanche should of came with instead of the cheap looking thin steel ones. As you will see in the pictures, I got it with a 7ft Aluminum truck topper which had lights wired in. The cool thing was that they had a carpet cover sitting in the bed so you could haul stuff comfortably. It would've been cool to camp in I think, it looked cozy. What made this jeep different from the rest? It was tough. I mean look at it, :fs1: This thing was never washed and I never washed it. It was rusted out pretty bad and the frame was splitting where the truck bed meets the cab at the bend. I only had it for a couple of months, but I used it like a real jeep, and she didn't break down once. Note this thing has 212k on the dial. I broke it in and used it harder than I use my other MJ, which is mint. So, I know what it's like to have a beater and a garage fairy, even though mine sits outside. This truck was the best $750 I spent. Cheap and Fun! The PO's family had it for most of it's life and I still have all the papers for it, since it was ordered, which is cool being in 1988. It was Colorado Red exterior, Charcoal Canyon interior, Bench seat :fs1:, cloth, and column shift I scrapped it because of the rust. :shake: It was on it's last legs, besides the drive terrain, that was solid! Since it was solid, I used it in my other MJ, which was a 2.5L TBI, and 2WD, which is sooo underpowered! It was a donor truck and served my well! R.I.P. Redscare Toughest Stock MJ out there! :rock on:
  5. Where did you purchase the mass backing carpet and does dynamatting the floor help with sound deadening?
  6. I'm doing the column to floor shifter conversion and was wondering, do you really need that second cable? I decided to keep the steering column i already have which is the column shifter, but I removed the shifter itself, so it does not have the knob on the column for the interlock cable like the floor shifter columns. Thanks in advance!
  7. That thing is a jem! :rotfl2:
  8. If he wanted something reliable, you should've finished that truck man! That MJ would last for a long time! I will admit, this was a depressing end to a awesome build thread, one of the cleanest and thorough.
  9. What is the rear driveshaft length of a short wheel base, 2.5 aw4 and np231 4wd?
  10. Actually he was on point. I think it's just common sense to just get a 4wd aw4 instead of taking apart the 2wd aw4 transmission. :laughin: Thanks for the help I appreciate it! I couldn't find a forum on here with sufficient information. Now to find parts :rotfl2:
  11. What all do I need to know about doing a 2WD AW4 swap to a 4WD AW4 swap?
  12. Will the 4x4 AW4 work with a 2wd AW4 tcu or do you have to find one of those too? :dunno:
  13. Where did you get this light bar at? It looks AWESOME! and I want to do this to my Comanche.
  14. So I found this push bar that will fit a 92-96 Cherokee, but was wondering, would it fit my 1988 Jeep Comanche?

Yes. XJs and MJs are the same from the rear of the doors (4dr XJ only) forward for all MJ years and XJs 84-96. Obviously with small differences like engine bay 84-86 and grille, gauges, and a few other minor things 91-96.
