  1. Had a front wheel bearing cause pretty bad vibrations. But you can easily isolate the noise for the most part while driving , if you slightly shift the weight to the side that you’re suspect of and the vibrations /noise gets worse you know it’s the bearing on that side. Don’t forget that a bent wheel can also cause vibrations. I also had that issue on my 88. u joints can also be another cause of vibrations. One last thing is also the driveshaft on 2wd models. They have rubber inside them and when that rubber starts starts to deteriorate it can throw the driveshaft balance off and cause vibrations. Which I think my 88 is suffering of right now but haven’t gotten to it.
  2. Nice , it’s always something lol , can’t wait to see more on the beauty
  3. How’s the good ol girl looking ?
  4. Been lusting after one of these for soo long, so when the opportunity came up I couldn’t pass it up. Thanks to gJeep I have a nice new to me sports bar for this one. Still want one for my 88 one day. Super happy about it. Still need to repair the threads on the brackets and install them. Couldn’t help myself to at least mock it up to see how it looked. It looks glorious.
  5. You gotta start a build on this beauty !
  6. That’s a beauty!! 4.0 or 5.2 ?
  7. Haha thanks Pete
  8. It is , I have two stalls to work on cars but the garage itself is small and getting on the alignment rack is a pain Due to the small size of the garage
  9. Haha I'm a total Jeep nut but work at a Honda dealership
  10. Pretty small update. first I found the trans was getting hot , o/d light would turn on and disable o/d after driving for a while and sitting in traffic. Fsm states it will do that to protect itself when temps get above 260 . The moment i started moving again the light would go off after a while. Didn’t want to keep running it hot so I stayed late at work the other day and installed a much bigger Hayden external trans cooler and bypassed the built in radiator trans cooler system. Hopeful it helps keep the tranny cool. Filled tranny fluid level according to the fsm and the trans did feel much better after this. No pics because I forgot. Worst case scenario if it needs a new trans down the road it will get it. I’m giving this old pile a second chance in life Also discovered the front crash beam was tweaked in pretty badly and was rubbing against the condenser. A little help from my dad , and a tree and we were in business. Before —after stayed late at work yesterday and installed 4 new tires and while I was at it cleaned and adjusted the rear drums the finished product.....for now
  11. , tried the tape deck but I could barely hear anything , ended up getting a fm transmitter!
  12. Thank you , will let you know !
  13. You pretty much hit the nail on the head with what you said , I really like the 93-95 look Much more than the 96-98 , and I agree this one has worn the complete opposite, the body and undercarriage is amazing due to living in California it’s whole life but the interior is another story. Don’t know what paint Chrysler used but some of it is peeling from the dash and the drivers seat is torn and the headliner will need to be replaced. But I really enjoy this zj. More than I though I would. This one will be staying in the collection.
  14. Yup , kinda why I wanted a 93-95 zj , still kinda has that old amc feel too it with a touch of classic Chrysler feel/ quality
  15. Buffed the aged paint and waxed it , looks pretty good. Took it out on a trip to a nice little spot outside of Vegas
  16. Yea , think the lighting in that last pic wasn’t helping , ordered a brochure for a 93 zj so I can learn more about the colors and options available, I’ve learned that info for A 93-95 zj isn’t as In depth as an xj.
  17. New To me carpet is In but sigh.... the grey isn’t an exact match , but I can live with it for now. Hopefully I find a better match later on old torn carpet you can clearly see the color difference everything buttoned back together
  18. In the process of removing the rear carpet , hit a snag , guess I lost one of my torx sockets at the yard and can’t find one that will fit the fasteners used on the seat belts
  19. Carpet is still pretty wet but looks pretty good compared to how it looked at first. It is a little faded but It’s better than having a bunch of holes in it. also put the center bezel back in after replacing the bulbs while I was it. Also picked up a dash mat when I was at the jy. Still gotta wash it. nice little glory shot
  20. Got a little progress done today , washes the new to me carpet. Used dawn soap and let it soak in it for a while and then took it to car wash and power washed all the brown crud out of it. going to let it dry , hopefully won’t take to long considering it’s been 100+ here in Vegas . ill post more pics of it once it dries
  21. Haven’t tested it yet , I know I have a cassette tape somewhere just gotta find it !
  22. Pretty good info Pete , I had read about some people having to modify the firewall for the clutch master and in all honestly I don’t want to cut the old girl up , I want to keep it as original as I can.
  23. No still gotta source that and look more into what I need to run for the clutch to work
