Ah, that makes sense thank you.

Hello again, I was attempting to pull my rear axle shafts when I found that the carrier is different from what I see on the d35 guides I see. There is no screw or bolt holding the gear shaft in place so now I'm confused.. It's a 4.0 4x4 5 speed and I tried to determine the gear ratio with the wheels off I got around the stock 3.07 ratio. It also appears that there is a date on biggest gear (don't know the name) that reads a date ending in '96. I'm beyond confused and way out of my element now.. Any help will be much appreciated, thanks.

Soon enough you'll see another once I get mine on the road! By the way, are you still interested in that grey carpet? I also have a pretty much complete grey interior in good shape since I'm swapping mine out to black. :D I'm open to trades too.

Yeah, this is only the 3rd Comanche I've seen actually driving around.

I was cutting through some back ally's in Dormont to get home from work and saw a blue Comanche with the "sport truck" decal on it. I nearly wrecked looking at it since they are rare around here since that's only the second one I've seen driving around. I regret not chasing him down! lol

That's how the interior still sits today. But, I'm picking a full black interior this weekend to swap in along with the fuse box and entire inside wiring harness. So with that, I stated back at the engine by pulling off the old exhaust. Trying to wiggle it out in one piece. Got all the way to the main bend in the down pipe before giving up and cutting the down pipe in half. After my removal victory. The new exhaust. The new exhaust painted. The new exhaust is installed and I somehow managed to put everything back together and made it run again! Videographic proof of my mechanical skillz. :P Click on picture for video.

We replaced the plugs with shiny new brass ones and then we got distracted messing around the interior.. To start I pulled the bench out and found a prize rusted to the bracket. It's a Craftsman 1/4 universal and I happen to work at a Sears Auto Center.. Now for the horribly graphic photos.. Those with young Jeeps are suggested to look away now. Not too bad really and that's after I chiseled away all the soft rusty metal away.

I've been busy working on the truck, while also being too lazy to post my progress.. Let the fixing commence! (only many parts were broken In the process..) Never mind the funny looking guy in my engine bay.. Now with that pesky intake out of the way. The first setback.. a JB welded over leaking freeze plug.

Found this on Ebay for a staggering $3 shipped! It's a magazine ad from Nov. 1986. I thought it was a neat piece of advertising.

Replaced Exhaust, Now Won't Start..
TheDude replied to TheDude's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm not driving it yet I'm still getting it ready. I can just take the sensor out and exchange it at advance for a new one. I'd rather not be trying to waste gas a more time seeing wether it's that or 6 other things that could be wrong. lol -

Is there a way to check that? It's literally brand new. -

Yeah, that was my problem. I somehow managed to connect my CPS to my 02 sensor! lol It started right up once fixed that. -

I know it won't run with that unplugged, I just didn't know that's what that was. Thanks a lot. I was also about to as where it is, but that diagram answers that question too. I going to bet that's my issue. -

Hello again, I just finished replacing my entire exhaust including the 02 sensor and injectors. now it only turns over but won't fire.. It ran fine before aside from the long cranking and massive leak from the cracked manifold. As far as I can tell everything is hooked up right. The only odd thing I found is a three hole connector at the rear of the fuel rail that I can't find anything to connect it to and a rubber hose with a piece of white plastic on the end of it. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

You're way too good at this! Thank you very much.

Are the holes on the intake and exhaust manifold the same size?
-
Hi, has anyone come up with a replacement for the factory EGR pipe? I only ask because my stock one is now destroyed.. and the replacement I got has stripped threads. So I'm stuck not being able to put my truck back together without it and I either find a way to make one or just plug the holes.. which is an iffy choice. Any insight would be very much appreciated.

And I figured those were my options. I'm leaning towards swapping the whole harness. Does that require removing most of the dash or not?
-
I believe it's from an 88 mines an 89.
-
Hi, my fuse box is falling apart so I picked up a replacement with the full harness attached. I was wondering what all do I have to remove to do this? I have most of the interior out aside from the dash. Any insight and help would be appreciated.
