  1. Well, the movie credits didn't give a description of the said sammich, but I'll take a logical guess. Being that they were in the south, I'm pretty confident that it either had pork or chicken in it, and I'm almost certain that it was slathered in a southern style HOT barbeque sauce. Mmmmmmmmmm, barbeque! mmm how about Pork AND chicken with Hot barbecue sauce !! Sorry guys...back to the truck. Yeah its awesome!!
  2. Yeah, I think this guy would have better luck trying to sell it at Barrett Jackson than on the internet. It looks like show room quality almost. BTW WahooSteeler, what exactly is a Diablo samich? Its about lunch time right now. I'm starved and looking for ideas.
  3. Could it be that I just messed up the sensors with degreaser and the pressure washer? Because that would be WAAYYY better than messing up an oil pump or radiator fans!
  4. So, I have an oil leak. There is so much grime on the engine that I can't exactly tell where its coming from, but I have a sneaking suspicion that its the valve cover gasket. The leak forms a drop on the bottom back side of the engine and drips onto the exhaust pipe. I'm going to change the valve cover gasket, but I'm wondering if the leak is likely to be coming from anywhere else? Also, what is the oil pressure supposed to be? Yesterday, I drove it for a while and I went pressure wash it, just to get the grease and grime off the motor (I did not use full pressure in the engine bay) and the caked on mud off the under side. I noticed after I washed the bottom end of the engine the oil pressure seemed to be lower than normal. The truck also seemed to run a little hot...but I don't know. The temp never got in the red but, every time I stopped the temp would creep up then once I started moving it would go back down. When I stopped again it went higher than it did the first time I stopped. Once I got to the shop and shut it off the temp needle got almost in the red. The truck sat up for about 8 months before I got it. And yesterday when I drove it I stomped on it a few times, but nothing too serious. Any Ideas?? :hmm:
  5. WOW! It didn't even break your tail light, and the F150 needs new everything in the front left. Apparently these Comanche's are Tanks
  6. So I finally got the thing running since the rats ate the wiring harness. While it was down I changed out the gauge cluster for the one with real gauges and a tach. Everything else seems to work, but the tach. Any ideas? Its a '92 Comanche 4.0HO AW4 4x4 in case thats important.
  7. I know if you leave the key off the steering wheel will lock, should I leave the key on?? Or will the wheels themselves not lock? sorry I'm such a noob
  8. Great! I have one question though. Why should the steering wheel not be locked? To me it would make sense to lock it so that it the wheels don't lock in an extreme left or right position. I'd just like some clarification on that.
  9. Ok, so I did some searching and I found a few things. I just want to make sure for the last time before I go and screw something up. From what I under stand you can flat tow a comanche with the transfer case in Neutral, the Trans in park, front diff dis-engaged, and BOTH drive shafts still connected with no problems. Thats what I hear it says in the manual. I can't really check because mine has no manual. I'm planning on flat towing this thing about 400 miles to an off road park in texas. Is it a good idea to flat tow it that far? :dunno: Also, how much does this thing weigh? Because I'm planning on towing it behind my Nissan Frontier.....4cylinder, 5 speed. I think my truck could handle it, but a lot of people on here have more experience than I do with this kind of stuff...so lets hear it.
  10. Here is what I would do. I would sit in the passenger seat, and get someone I trust to drive it. Put the seat belt on like your supposed too. Get the driver to go about 30 or 35 and slam the breaks, if the seat belt grabs you before you eat the dash then it has the inertia locks and your kid is probably fine. But thats just me. Maybe you could see if the belts out of a XJ has the locking point and just trade it out.
  11. Its a 92. k just checkin...you got a rare one. I just got through going over this swap with some idiot on naxja who wanted to put H.O. full gauges in with a renix system... I'm glad you've got the brains lol lol. It sure was a challenge to get the gear indicator to fit behind the tach since the white case I was using didn't have any brackets for it. I wound up making an aluminum bracket to mount in the case and mount the indicator to, and mounting the tach on top of it. I had to bend the corner of the tach up slightly to get it to slide right, but you can't tell i did that. There was lots of trial and error......mostly error but it works.
  12. I took out the idiot gauges and put in the real ones out of a 94 Cherokee. I installed the gear indicator in the tach where its supposed to go, it looks like hell but it works.
  13. Hey guys! I'm a noob to this site. I have a 04 Nissan Frontier 2wd, and I recently came into possession of a 92 Comanche 4x4, Long bed, 4.0 HO with 106,000 on the odo. The wiring harness has been eaten through by rats in one spot so its gonna be replaced. With the exception of the wiring harness, its my understanding that the truck runs. I'll post pics when I can get some.
