  1. hell yea we are!! :rock on:
  2. does anyone know of anyone that makes a metal replacement box for the stock tail lights? something that has holes cut for taillights/backup lights, or can be custom cut? my stock ones are shot, and finding replacements is worse than trying to find a needle in a haystack, and theyll most likely just get wrecked on the trail anyway.
  3. what did it get up to last time??
  4. whats the reserve at? what what did the bidding get up to last time??
  5. got it to my buddies place last weekend for some welding. got the tranny crossmember, trac bar and the LCAs welded up and in place. gotta get back for another session to get both UCA brackets fabbed up and the control arm itself, along with the rear anti-wrap bar. I know this build is moving at a snails pace, but its gettin there bit by bit; hopefully ill be wheeling it this winter?

    Cool Find

so i was sitting in my garage tonight trying to find some ambition to get some work done. i ended up getting nothing done, but did end up finding this. the manual itself wasnt really a find, as i knew it was there, but i had just never thumbed through it. 'cool' i think to myself. whats inside?? the dealer's AND the original owner's info. The Warrenty Identification Card is in there too, and looks like its never been touched. Turns out my MJ somehow made it to Utah from Virginia. And the only Ronald Ray in Virginia I found after about 30 seconds on google is a dentist; i'm temped to give him a call.
  7. SOA 14 bolt on stock springs gave me about 4.5" or so. So I should be fine??
  8. Let me explain better: does my truck need it, or am I wasting time/money on something that isn't necessary.
  9. Do I need to do an SYE on my 231 with a shortbed that's got a SOA in the rear??
  10. any idea of $? pm me if youd rather not publicly disclose...
  11. thats the shape the inside of a TJ flare, so they mustve had them at some point
  12. was at that race last week. the MJ is amazing!! and the guys are incredibly nice. they had a rough day and were rushing to get fixed going into the stock-mod final, but broke on the first of second lap. can't wait to see them at KOH in february!!
  13. looks like a great SHTF truck...
  14. as i progress further into my build, it is becoming increasingly more obvious that my clean, rust free, undented bed won't stay that way for long. I could wheel it til its bashed in and un-useable, but i'd feel bad. So I'm thinking of building some sort of bed thatll laugh at rocks, trees, and other motorists that tangle with me, but it must be functional and look good too. will need to haul camping gear and whatnot without stupid amounts of rope or bunjee cords. some MJ's that ive found in my searches: nice stepside bed on the 08 UA MJ715 quick and easy, but limited space, and not much security. plain and simple, but not all that functional; would need lots of straps to secure anything. limited space. any ideas?? pics??
  15. yea id have to go over it real well before even driving it. I'm interested to see how the 'frames' were attached. it looks good from 30 feet, but how bout from 6 inches...

  22. I'm diggin the rear window louvers; ive never seen those on a Comanche before
  23. UPDATE!! i pulled the 14 bolt tonight in favor of......(wait for it) a 14 BOLT!!!!! explanation: the old 14b had drum brakes, like 140lbs for the pair of them. and they were rusted on. just a mess. so those were ditched long ago in favor of discs. however, the more i read up on them, the more trouble i knew i was in, because there was no 'easy' way to get a good, reliable parking brake on there. i spent days researching the topic and finally found my answer: ditch the whole thing. So that happened tonight to make room for another 14 bolt that came out from under (i believe) a 2004 chevy 2500hd truck. its got disc brakes AND a parking brake setup on both sides inside the disc hat. and as an added bonus, all the guts from the 'older' 14 bolts swap straight over to the new ones, so its the best of both worlds! also, in somewhat related news, i got a new job! i start next week, and its alot closer to home (17 miles one way vs. 40), the hours are better (730-4 m-f vs. variable schedule with either 8-430 shifts or 2-1030pm shifts) plus the pay is better. all the equals more time and money to work on the Chief!!
