  1. woah havent post forever, i lost my cameras battery charger so ill hav epictures when the battery is charged, i lowered the back of my transmission today, to adjust my slave cyl, found out that wasnt the problem, the clutchplate in the bellhousing is 'locked', i need help with that, shouldnt there be a plate that the slave cyl pushrod is supposed to engage? or what piece engages it?
  2. update, i was out of town and my truck wasnt worknig so it was parked at the gates of my school, so i got my buddies to run up to where i had my truck parked and got them to rip off the towing warning, the lady thought it got covered by snow so she put another one up, got it towed home, and when i got back i found out somebody slashed my tires :( going to start to build a little work area for in the snow, we have so many tarps ill just tarp up and area, put it up on jacks, put some spotlights in it for some light and heat :P i have to replace my tires so it will be imobile for a few months, drop the back of my tranny to get to my slave cyl again, will update with pictures tomorow
  3. how do you manually start it with your plunger stick?
  4. couldnt start my manche when i needed it :( i took my starter completley apart and put it back together, took it into a shop and the guy said it worked fine, i got him to replace the solinoid for it anyway, slapped it back in my truck and... nothing :headpop: checked the wires said its getting 25 v of current going to it, it should be around 12 i thoguht? is this too much for it? any ideas? i need a few ideas because i won't be working on it for about 2 weeks and it could be alot of things
  5. hah a few people have offered me for that roll bar :D
  6. here are some pics finally, not the greatest quality but they are still pics up on the lift :) oem spare tire wrack still in tact :) i welded a cherry bomb onto my exhaust and left it as a straight pipe 8) my custom radiator fan (looks safe eh?) like my patch work? now an update for today, i tried shorting my starter to see if it would engage, notta thing happend, so i cleaned every part on it, dis asembled it, and then re asembled it, lol thats where the fun began, i started to take it apart bit by bit and cleanining as i went. everything was going smooth until i got to this point, then i pulled this peice out and pulled this off to clean it not knowing that it was sping loaded :wall: took me a while of tiral and error but i fould something that will make you be able to slide it back on and its easy to do took some paper clips and twisted them like a twist tie :P i got it back together, put it in again and it still didnt work, so i dropped it off to roko and it is being rebuilt and delivered tomorow, one more day till shes on the road again so right now ill just be chillin :chillin:
  7. i would have uploaded pictures today, but the camera that i was going to use, got broken, so i need to bring my other one tomorow, today i replaced the slave cyl. bled my clutch line by myself (with the help of my old back drum :P ) and got everything ready to take out of the shop, but i have ran into starter problems, so tomorow I'm checking the fuses, wires, the current going to the starter, and ill be seeing if ill be able to jump the wires to see if its an internal problem, i should have pictures up tomorow, so you can see what my manche looks like :D
  8. the picture is just a reference to the black seal, which doesnt fit my slave cyl rod, so i think ima have to use my old seal for this 1
  9. heyy there, i guess its about time for me to start my build log, so far, i have replaced front brakes and pads, back drums and shoes, balanced tires, replaced distrubitor wires, new spark plugs, new lifter seal, oil change, power steering fluid change, new clutch, gear oil change, fixed my allready short exhaust (lol cut off this muffler with a big 2 inch hole in it, haha and welded a cherry bomb on the end :P will get pics soon) replaced speakers, but someone went in my truck and broke them, taped up seat :rotfl2: one of the problems i had with dropping my transmission was the shifter, i didnt relise at the time the top didnt come off from the shaft, and i took a wrench and broke it off, musta wrentched at it for a bit to long :P so i welded it back on, but i forgot to put the covers on it ! will update tomorow with pictures
  10. thats what i was thinking, if you meant taking off the new seal and putting on the old seal and rod, and now that i look at it, that pic looks like some sorta modded clutch housing?
  11. i got my replacement slave cyl in today, i noticed it came with a rubber seal around it all ready, you can see it in this pic (not my tranny tho) do i take that rubber seal off? and put the seal with the engaging rod on? or do i leave it on, and put the other seal over top?
  12. i found another problem with my old slave cyl. today, i got my replacement part in at the end of the day, and i was comparing them to each other, the slave cyl that came off, i looked inside, and the part where it pushes the rod the engage the clutch was sucked right back, the spring that was supposed to make it spring back was bent and in front of it!
  13. found the problem, the piece where the bleeder vaulve screws it is cracked ( a chunk broke right off) so ive got to replace it :P hoping to get this girl running soon (**edits** its the slave cylender thats broken, no wonder it didnt work) ohh pete this also answers ur first question, the slave is external

  15. no they dropped it around the distributor, spent over 2 hours looking 4 it lol, so i need to get the measurment for a replacement bolt, ill get a pic of it up tomorow, (its where u fill up your clutch line with dot 3 fluid, top right corner under your hood)

  17. a few buddies of mine were trying to figure out what was wrong with my clutch and so the started to unbolt the master cyl, simple enought right? well they dropped a bolt in the engine and it is lost, probably never to be seen again, what is the bolt size? threading? (looked in the bolt thread couldnt find it)
  18. my manche atm is in shop class, so i found it alot easier to get acess to the bleeder vaulve, got any tips/tricks? I'm new at this
  19. i bled it again today (auto class) still loose, should i do everything up ( put drive shaft and ect. on) and see if it engages/disengages? also, the only way that i was able to bleed my clutch pedal, was to disconect my driveshaft, and unbolt the plate that holds the back of the tranny, then droped er down. any more simple way? also, the brake and clutch resivoir is the same resivoir right? this was also thrown out at me, if this is a new clutch kit, maybe it is supposed to be feeling loose? no idea, but i don't think so, my goal is to get it done for this weekend, (shouldnt take that long, but i only have like 1 hr and a bit per day to work on it :( ) ohh btw, i went through over a full bottle of brake fluid, while trying to bleed it, thats not good, is it?
  20. ok, ill try it out again, for bleeding i got my bud to pump on the pedal, but that got boring... did that for like an hour and a half, so i decided to get him to pump, then i too ka tube as he was holding onto the pedal still, and cyphoned it, but ill try it some more
  21. then, how would i be able to adjust such a thing?
  22. its a 4 cyl, uhh I'm not to shure about the slave tho
  23. hey there, a few months ago i accuired an 86 manche from my father, he got it for about $150 and then i got it off him for free, but recently the clutch died, so i had to replace it, and this is where my problem begins :P i put the new clutch in and put the trany in again, bled the clutch line no problem, the pedal worked fine, but... it didnt work, found out i forgot to put the new throwout bearing on, would kinda help right? so i dropped the transmission again, and put it on, i also drained the gear oil and replaced it with new fluid, (man that stuff sucks getting out of a hoddie, smells so bad) bled the clutch line completley and it was still really loose, btw, i only bled it at the bleeder vaulve where it gets hooked up to the transmission, are there any more places i would need to bleed it from? any iedeas? btw, i need to do the timing, what would the easiest way to do it without a timing light be? (untill i get one)
