  2. poppin is gone when i got wheel lock to wheel lock (don't know how it went away on it's own) but now i have it when i make a turn and the truck flexs a little, could it be the shock or coil springs? i know it's somethin that's up front and suspention related, Redwolf
  3. replaced the slave cylinder today, clutch works again :) i just don't like the catch point at the top, i like'd it at the bottom near the floor, Redwolf
  4. ordered a new slave cylinder today so i can pick it up tomorrow on payday, i did noticed some fluid drippin out of the slave cylinder and my slave cylinder has been questionable ever since i replaced my clutch and bleed it the first time, hopefully tomorrow when i get the cylinder it'll fix all my problems, Redwolf
  5. the way the haynes manual says, gravity bled, and the way my dad used to do it when he way a kid, so purdy much everyway possible, Redwolf
  6. externally mounted clutch slave cylinder yes and it does have a bleed screw however i can't see or find a bleed screw for the master cylinder, Redwolf
  7. day before christmas eve i decided to clean my clutch slave cylinder cause when i try to go into first or second i gotta grind gears just to get into that gear but 3, 4, and 5 would be smooth as glass, today me and my dad tried to tackle the clutch again cause after bleeding it i had no clutch to where if i start the jeep in neutral but try to go into any gears it was impossible, my clutch slave and master cylinder are good, no leaks but if ya press the pistion in on the clutch slave air burps outta the master cylinder which tells me i have air in the system some how, where could it be comin in at? Redwolf
  8. that quote is true and i've done that, i can't figure out where the noise comes from and i can't see anything wrong what's a wayward ballon? Redwolf
  9. yes and it's not just when i turn the wheels all the way to the left anymore, it's when i get to full lock both ways now.... Redwolf
  10. bad news, the pop is back, the bolts are still tight though, Redwolf
  11. thanks guys, it was the frame bracket, the nuts where loose, i'm surprised the rear nut didn't fall off down the road, but the pop is now gone  Redwolf
  12. thanks guys, glad to know i could use it outta a 4 door (that's all pnp has sadly) and as far as same engines i might have a problem with that, i have a 2.8, could i get the stuff outta a 2.5 and slap it up under and call it good or would i have to do an engine swap as well? Redwolf
  13. gotta question bout the 2WD to 4WD conversion, can i use any 4x4 manual tranny XJ or does it have to be a 2DR or 4DR or does it matter, thought of this the other day, Redwolf
  14. yeah i got flashlights but workin underneither a vehicle is not somethin i'll do in the dark, i'll work under the hood in the dark but not underneither, but i'm bouta put the MJ in the drive way so i'll update yall when i know somethin, Redwolf
  15. i know, i'll let yall know what happens when i get day light time to mess around with it, Redwolf That daylight stuff happens about 12 to 15 hours each day, doesn't it? sun goes down around 5, i don't get home till 6, Redwolf
  16. i know, i'll let yall know what happens when i get day light time to mess around with it, Redwolf
  17. ok, i'll try that today once i get home from work if the sun's still up, if not i'll try it satuday, Redwolf
  18. no air tools for me, my dad's old school and what exactly should i be tightin, the trackbar retainin nut of the bracket? Out of curiosity, what should it be torqued down to? according to the haynes manual this is what it says for torques; "track bar ballstud nut....62ft-lbs trach bar-to-axle bracket nut.....74ft-lbs" that's just for the trackbar, i got all the torque specs for almost everything on a MJ/XJ trust me i checked that first cause it started both times i when off road and no rocks or anything, Redwolf
  19. trust me it's not the controls arms, i checked em with a torque wrench :) Best thing to do is see if you can duplicate the symptom sitting still and see-sawing the wheel back and forth. If you can have someone do that while you have a gander underneath, that would be the best. Refresh my memory here. Did you actually put a wrench/socket on the trackbar bracket to framerail bolts? as far as takin a wrench to the track bar bracket, no i didn't, i did it the hard way, fought with the cotter pin and retainin nut and a pickle fork, and i can duplicate the pop, only when i turn the wheel all the way to the left at for lock, Redwolf
  20. inproper mountin of the eye terminals or havin to file one to make it big enough? Redwolf
  21. that's exactly what i'm askin, right now i have my ground lead on a screw/bolt, i just wonder if it's cause of the setup i have, i have followed the instrustions, rechecked and rechecked, but still high SWRs, i'm just wonderin if i should get a new coax and a new antenna stud that way it screws onto the stud as aposused to strippin the coax and havin em added to eye terminal leads, Redwolf
  22. just a thought, could me backin the ground lead bolted to the antenna mount be a factor of high SWRs to where if i put the ground lead inbetween the mount and the bed would the SWRs go down? Redwolf
  23. saw another MJ in virginia beach today, light blue, brush gaurd and a winch on the front, 102 steel whip on the back bumper and it was a pioneer, lookin rough but was sweet, just wanna know where in virginia beach it lives cause it cut through my neighborhood :) Redwolf
  24. back to the drawin board, i still have high SWRs, i'm replaced the cb radio (the old one stopped workin) and took off the antenna mount to scrap the bed liner off but i still have high SWRs, i get SWRs of 2 on channel 4 but at channel 10 they go sky high again, any ideas? Redwolf
