  1. stopped rainin yesterday and the drive way was dry today so i crawled under my MJ and checked EVERYTHING that was highlighted in that diagram, everything is tight, i greased everything but the poppin noice went away a few days ago so i inspected everything and it all looks good, i'm thinkin somethin got caught up in there from where i did doughnuts lol Redwolf
  2. alright, i went to advance and checked out the gear oil and motor oil just to price em and see if they have anything i can use other than the 10w30 motor oil, i have two choices that ARE NOT GL5, royal purple which is 20 bucks for 1qrt, or penzoil syncromesh that's 9 bucks for 1qrt, the royal purple said somethin bout gl4 and 5 but i didn't read the whole thing, the penzoil said ideal for GM and Crystler transaxles and transmissions and is compatable with yellow metals such as bronze, brass, and copper, so i'm leanin towards the penzoil but i don't know, what do yall think? Redwolf
  3. 3 years later? was that with if flyin all day everyday off the XJ? Redwolf
  4. i hope not, i mean, if i double clutch it'd be fine but that's only when the tranny is cold, Redwolf
  5. any flex or bend, snappin, anything break? Redwolf Nope none of it lol these are with 3x5 flags. And you can see how I have them zip tied to the rack..the rope isnt touching them at all Image Not Found alright, that means i should weld a pole onto my truck and be good :) although wood gives more that metal, another question, how long have ya had one flag on before it's rips? Redwolf
  6. ok, i got it now, so if i drain my tranny and add either GL3 or GL4 or 10w 30 motor oil i'll be good right? Redwolf
  7. motor oil?? Redwolf but since 10w30 is the same as 70w 90 gear oil wouldn't it have the same compound that eats up the brass syncros in the AX 5 and AX15? Redwolf
  8. alright thanks so should i look for GL3 or 4? motor oil?? Redwolf
  9. any flex or bend, snappin, anything break? Redwolf
  10. yeah that will help A LOT is there any way ya can point out all the grease fittins too, my dad told me it'd be a great idea when i'm under there makin sure everything is tight to greese ball joints and all that, Redwolf
  11. Weather permitting of course. will do and yeah weather permittin, all we've been gettin is rain, rain, and more rain, minus yesterday and i hand to help my buddy out with droppin his truck off at firestone and checkin out a truck he wants then i had work at night, so today if i can before work i'll try to take a look if weather permitting :) Redwolf
  12. did that, after bout the 10th lock to lock it went faint but it's only when the wheel is turned all the way left, Redwolf
  13. track rod? what does that look like? sorry i haven't messed with much under my truck but the oil pan, tranny and rear diff they're all tighten but i'll double check if weather permits, Redwolf
  14. this can't be good, i had to make a U turn today and turned my wheel all the way left and i heard a loud pop, got home and the first thing i did was check to make sure the ball joints were still good (which they are but need to be greesed bad) tie rods aint touchin anything, gear box is still good, nothing is touchin, i don't know what is makin the loud pop, any ideas? Redwolf
  15. i thought the ax5 didn't have brass synchros? i used 75w-90 gear oil, didn't have a problem up untill this cold snap, Redwolf
  16. so dot 3 wouldn't work :???: if not i'm screwed, also i went with the gear oil for my tranny that the owners manual said to go with, don't remember what oil that is off the top of my head and my front yard is flooded so once the water level goes down enough to get to my MJ i'll look up the gear oil i put in the tranny, Redwolf
  17. that's the sound i want but the sound of a semi will have to do since the old air horn sound from a firetruck is too hard to find in my area, Redwolf
  18. got those bookmarked, thinkin bout em but the price is killer, Redwolf
  19. yeah it does seem like it's held on by the tool box, sandbags would be great if i could get some, i actually started thinkin of a water cooler jug filled with sand and slappin a pole in the middle and cargo strappin the jug to the bed and clampin the jug mouth to the pole thought of that but just with 2 Redwolf
  20. i've seen that when i google this stuff but i can't tell if that's just sat in the bed or bolted on, Redwolf
  21. wish i had thought of that before i took my only dish tripod to the scrap yard, it's hard to find a cheap on now, i'm not tryin to spend a whole lot on this project that's the problem, i currently have a spare rim but no tire on it so i keep the rim in my room, plus i plan on when i do have a tire mounted on it bunge cordin it to the back of my bed by the cab, i want the flag at the front of the bed, will however be a great quick put-together for the parade if i can't find a permanet rig, Redwolf
  22. oyaji, i do aperciate the help but i'm not mountin the flag behind my cab, i'm mountin behind the passenger side wheel well, i'll figure somethin out, Redwolf
  23. i agree with avoidin new holes in the bed, although, i think IF i weld a steel pole to the L piece and cargo strap (or even bunge cord) it to the tie down loops in the bed on both sides of the pole kinda like guide lines for power lines i should be good at high speeds right? Redwolf
  24. just a thought, monster truck bodies are made of fibber glass, fibber glass gives A LOT, what if i got a fibber glass flag pole and had it mounted somehow, Redwolf
  25. steerin wheel center piece! is that all in one piece, all the screw holes in great shape, i need a new one, Redwolf
