While at this years' Jeep Jamboree, I saw 2 comanches in the crowd. Anyone from this group? Both came in trailered- tandem style. Just curious how they enjoyed there weekend. The weather couldn't have been better. ;)

Thanks guys for all of the suggestions. The MJ came home for a short-overnight stay Sunday morning. After removing bench seat and panel, finally got the door opened. ;) Found a broken spring assemblies in bottom of door cavity. The door opens and closes ok. If the door get's locked, it stays locked until I can play with the correct latches. Therefore, I left the panel off for now. Hope to finish up around Thanksgiving. Anyone have a door latching assembly (drivers side) they can part with from a junk door?

What are my chances of pulling the door panel off with the door closed? It appears it's "do-able" if I pull the bench seat out. I'll try the WD 40 trick first. Wish me luck.

Drivers door won't unlatch- can't unlock. PITA to crawl over seat. 1. Tried different keys- 2. Sprayed oil in lock- 3. Played with both inside and outside latches. Only to get door open to pull panel...someday. Any suggestions just short of tearing the door off of hinges? :headpop:

Well the old radiator died. Lucked out today and bought a new 3 core Go-Dan radiator for 93 XJ (Model No. 43-2335) for $114.30 here in town!!! I was looking at paying $137.00 off of ebay/internet. New cap brought the total to $119.28. Next, it's time to order the remaining parts from Jeep. Thanks for the articles!!! -
If anyone wants to have a reason to go wheeling later this month, here is something worth looking at. Hope to see you there... http://www.redbirdsra.com/vendorday2006.htm Feel free to visit Redbird anytime. Nightride and swap meet coming up in June. ;)

I ended up buying a set of RE? rock rails/sliders for a XJ at a swap meet. Since I have a SWB, I ended up modifing the mounting points so they would fit better and match the profile of the MJ. They saved the MJ rockers out in Colorado 5+years ago. ;)

FREE  My buddy took a MJ down to the swap meet. Since we had some "dead" time, we decided to pull the liner and see how the bed was. If the bed was in poor shape, the bedliner would have stayed "in place". Bed was in pretty good shape for an 89. Since it was out, he said that I might as well have it and put it in mine. OK- he didn't have to twist my arm twice. He sold the truck the next day.

Knowing that many of you are die-hard MJ owners and lovers, I thought I would share this "score" with you. I picked up a factory plastic bedliner and tailgate cover yesterday from the 4x4 swap meet. The scrip "Comanche" is at the head end of the bed. NEAT... Knowing there are several pro's and con's on owning one, I really couldn't pass up the offer. Has anyone got a tip or two on prepping the steel bed before installation? I was thinking about spraying a light coat of oil in the bed to protect it in future years. I'm starting to appreciate the qerks on owning this truck- Scott

I would like to get my CC working since it has never worked in the past. Could it be as simple as replacing the brain box/module? I was told that there are different colored boxes. Mine is yellow. Therefore, I would need to find a yellow one to see if that works. Too simple? Any better suggestions. Thanks, Scott

Other than scanning the web/ebay, anyone have a good source for a SWB gas tank? Anything over 3/4 tank full starts dripping on the ground. Thanks!!

After seeing that most of you guys are in need of a LWB roll bar, what is the going price on them? Looks like dana 44's and rollbars are the hot items to have. What else is there to look for in the junk yards? Having a SWB MJ, I guess the reason I haven't gotten too interested in one is because of my camping shell I sometimes install. I have looked at installing a Fabtech Motorsports rear tire carrier so I can have a full size spare with me. I would put the mounting plates on Q.D. mounts when I need to use the bed to haul someting.

I believe I saw a posting once that spelled out how to turn your front/corner marker-parking lights into turn signals. For some reason, I can't remember where I saw it. Is it safe to say is that all I need to do is to patch into the front wires to the turn signals and rewire the front/corner marker-parking lights and to make sure the light bulbs are the same?

I just happen to have an extra steering box bracket/brace from my CJ. It looks like I can re-work it and use on the MJ. I would appreciate it if someone could post a photograph or two showing me where and how it bolts to the passenger side of the frame. It looks like I may have to grind a little of the steering box webbing near the pitman arm to make that portion fit. Is there anything else I'm missing? Thanks alot!!! Scott
