  1. I have stumbled across an axle assembly from a '98 Mustang GT, with discs for the MJ. The price is right. ;) I'm trying to find out what is the basic difference between the two axles. Is there any particular difficulty with using a Mustang axle vs. the Explorer axle? 1. Overall width? 2. Axle spline? 3. Misc.? I understand the mustang has 4 control arms which will be cut off for new spring plates. Thanks!
  2. Glad to see that you are coming back. My MJ is doing college duty for another year. I'll have the CJ there.
  3. Trailride is this upcoming weekend. We will have some guided trails or feel free to explore with your own group. ;) Feel free to RSVP at your earliest convenience. We want to make sure we have plenty of food for everyone.

  5. Boy, I lucked out. I had a complete exhaust replaced on my MJ from manifold back for $100.00. It helped since the manager was working on his CJ when I first stopped in for a quote. :clapping: This included 2 1/2" piping (single in/out) and Flowmaster- Series 40. Since comanche didn't have a converter, installation was nice and clean.
  6. A guy in the club replaced his XJ injectors with those out of a 5.0 mustang. He bought them used off of eBay. They were rated at 19lbs. (As with any used injector, the o-rings and pintel caps should be replaced and the injectors cleaned prior to installation.) The main difference that I remember about this swap is that the Ford injectors are more of a one-piece construction instead of the 2 piece the MJ/XJ ones are. Less prone to leakage and a little cheaper than the factory units. Hope this is an option some of you have heard of.
  7. Will there be any special drilling needed or will the clocking ring resolve most issues? Thanks...

  10. Is that garage of yours bustin' out at the seams? Is it like any typical hardcore off roader garage? Do you have so many extra parts that you may never use them and you really need the room to start your next trail project? And speaking of that next project, do you have what you need to complete it? Come to The Wayne County 4-H Fairgrounds in Richmond, Indiana and bring your goodies. PLEASE NO COMMERICAL VENDORS. http://www.fatboysjeepers.com/fbj/swapmeet07.pdf
  11. Group, don't forget to come out to Redbird this Saturday the 9th to help Redbird and Four Wheels to Freedom celebrate Trail 4 being selected as one of this years Outstanding Trails by B.F. Goodrich. This a national honor and some of the four wheel drive magazines will be there doing stories on the event. B.F. Goodrich will be there to honor trail 4 and present 4WTF with a monetary donation to help with trail maintenance. A trail ride is also planned for that day. There will be free food and prizes and we be having extended riding hours on Saturday till 10:00pm. Please come out and help show B.F. Goodrich how we appreciate their support in helping to keep trails open. It doesn't matter what you ride, jeep, ATV or motorcycle we all need to show up and have a big turnout for them. Thanks and hope to see you all there.

  21. A pretty nasty day turned out to be a fun day. Although the open areas were muddy, the trails were challenging.I believe the rain keept a few away from wheelin'- probably at home raking leaves. We fed about 60-70 people yesterday. Thanks to Comanchegirl and Comanchero for stopping by to have some of our chili and brownies. Hope you will find some interesting reading material in your goodie bag. :D We are looking at having another wheelin' trip at Haspin for our 5th annual GHD run. I'll keep you posted. I'll try to get some pictures available later, or at least a link to them.
  22. Look for the bonfire and the banners hanging from the house/shelter that sits on the right as you drive up the hill. Hopefully you won't miss it. :brows: Hope to see some of you folks at Haspin Saturday. Make sure you check in before you hit the trails. ;)
  23. I saw them at registration. I should have said something but I was busy trying to fix a broken rear disc brake bracket/brake line on the CJ. :headpop: Both were a little muddy with close to 33's and 4"-6" lift's. They must have ran in stock-modified class. I don't believe they were in the green or black groups- modified... Sorry, no pictures.
  24. There MIGHT be one in the cooler with your name on it- gotta show me some love first. ;)
